Ive decided to go the "electronic speedo signal corrector", which will alter the electronic signal from the speed sensor, http://www.yellr.com/yb_home.htm

Seems that Nissan stopped making separate pinion gears for models after 1998.

Can someone tell me, does the speed signal go into the ECU then to the dash, or into the dash then to the ecu, or does it split, one to ECU and one to dash ?

I'm pretty sure the signal goes directly to the dash with a feed to the ECU. You will therefore need to set the speedo corrector to adjust the feed to the dash from the drive in the gearbox. I have built the jaycar speedo corrector unit with good results in adjusting the tacho signal. Bear in mind though that the corrector unit will be no good to you if the speedo is not 10% out over the entire range (ie if the error changes over the speed range).

Hope this helps.

thanks, so best place to put it is behind the dash, that way my boost control and Timer, which display speed(both also 10% out) will also be corrected. My error is consistent over the entire speed range, so should be fine, cheers
