had loads of fun....good to see everyone had a ball as well...my biggest regret was doing the burnout for soooooo long and completely demolished my tyres....with no tyres i had no chance, esp in the wet...hit the water and spin...

looking forward to the next one...with some new tyres of course...

hey eug, nice to meet you out there today, and everyone else for that matter. Was a great day, one rexy had more serious problems, a few people overheated due to abuse lol and corinns clutch died. a lot of rubber was left on the track by the boys with deeper pockets and i had some good times and some extra fun runs :bunny:

all is good in the skyline world. looking forward to the next day, but we need a new event . i would like to learn to drift maybe they can incorporate that, but i guess you cant time it lol. figure 8 in the middle of the slalom maybe? i dunno. see you all at the next one

Wasn't just my clutch!

loose turbo, loose steering rack, broken engine mount

Also found out why my speedo is out so much. It doesn't have a 32 gtst diff!

If anyone has any feedback on the day good or bad please let me know :)

yeah he is from the autosports forum...he told me he was organising it....not sure what he is doing...think he said dvd....but wen i find out i will post across...

havent done burnouts like that before....and wont be doing them again....but damn the tyres were still smoking for a good 5 mins after getting off the pan.....the guys who busted there cars blocked the exit so it looked like mine was busted as well....i just couldbt get through..... burnouts in semi's.....damn....

lol yeah... right.

everyone knew you weren't blown up, its just that most people could see that you were going to get wiped out if you stayed there long enough.

plus your car was the only one from memory that actually dissapeared in a cloud of smoke, the otehrs were moving around too much.

not that i know a lot about burnouts *whistles* lol ive been to summernats too many times

yeah it was pretty crazy at times when all i could see was smoke and was doing it blind....had to stop before i could start moving again....when i was doing the tight circle work it was completely white....loved it but never doing it again...well not with good tyres or if i dont have a spare set with me...

i was worried about getting hit....wasnt the smartest place to park....

still holding out for the video....want to see it from outside the car cause it looked big from were i was sitting...

hey Weeman here with the grey XR6 T. I had a good time, I'm lookin foward to doing anyother one. Ill have to find some more stockies :P

Whoo! :P

Heh, sorry about my car being in the way there. Backwards pressure on the fuel pump; she came good after a few minutes settling.

Hey Tom,

Glad you enjoyed the day.

Its not the wheels that are the problems just go to a 2nd hand tyre place and you should be able to pick up tyres for $30 a corner :P

Thats what i plan to do next time i want to do burnouts....

might try some semi slicks next time....but not sure how the water section will go... but the understeer improvement should help alot....

ha you guys are getting too competitive, i went fast and i only drive one handed. you have a lot to learn before you waste money on semi slicks. i'm not sayting it wont help, im just saying you could get the time other ways. like driving better.

i'm sure its harder to do the slalom 180 turns on semis too, its tightest if you sliiide.

well i am the stig so driving ability is not of concern....tyres should greatly improve times if it isnt too wet...if there was no water at all i would definitely go the semi's...my first 2 runs were alot faster then last time....i was under by over 1.5 seconds....

i noticed that this time everyone was slower then last time....overall that is...i think the time trial format is great and love the competitiveness....

i plan to take back my crown in the rwd turbo category....

i plan to take back my crown in the rwd turbo category....

I think you woulda given me a real good run for 1st in RWD turbo class if you hadn't fried ya tires. But ill take it where I can get it.

cheers Weeman.

    • What can't be done with a little bit of decking board or similar timber bolted to a hub flange via 2 wheel nuts is not worth talking about.
    • I noticed something. On the tps sensor and the sensor behind the adjustment screw is adjusted towards the far left. Are these screws supposed to be centered? (this sensor was in the same position before the tune as well)  Also attached a photo of where my car usually idles at when warm (sometimes a tiny bit above that). I think I might have screwed up the calculation and it might have better than I thought lol at 750rpm still not 650rpm though.
    • So for both general interest of engine health, and to rule out any coolant/oil issues, I organised an oil analysis done on the 125,000klm oil Results below, all good, just a bit of fuel dilution which I'm not too worried about
    • This is actually a really good way of measuring what wheels fit. If only there was a similar measurement between hub face and suspension :p That said, it's probably pretty simple to actually measure it all with the wheel off the car for the rear. The front is a bit more complex but..
    • Being the top Google search result for R34 wheel-related inquiries, lemme throw down my experience. I calculated that 100mm from hub face to wheel face is about the perfect fitment for my ENR34 sedan.  I've been running 18x8.5s, ET35, with a 1" spacer. So, 8.5in to mm = 216mm. 216/2 = 108mm. 108-35 = 73mm. 73+ 25 (1" to mm) = 98mm.  If you wanna get close to this on dif widths, here are the offsets you'll want: 9" - ET around 15mm 9.5" - ET around 20mm 10" - you're crazy, but ET around 30mm All these should fit perfectly on a non-widebody, non-GTR Skyline. Note that it's probably the absolute max, and you're probably better off running a couple degrees of camber in this config, but it looks great, super flush.
