Ye, and with a 1700-1800kg body, a lighter car with 200-220rwkw and 1400kg's is going to deal a beating to it time and time again because weight is the enemy of power.

You can have as much power as you want. But when you tip the scales with another 300-400kgs, the extra power means dick all.

Is basic physics.

If you cant be faster than a Naro/GT with 220rwkw in your own car, then you cant drive, or you dont have 220rwkw (or a combination of the two)

ahhahahha the infamous nismoid once again, i never said it was faster i just said they have 250 at the wheels and i want more then that, its not really about whos faster but i guess braggin rights a lil, and the fact that i wanna step out of the 200-250 mark thats so common these days.

If you are going to try and pull up Paulr33 I suggest you get your facts straight and stop dribbling shit.

He said the Ford and the HSV have around 200 rwkw - not flywheel kw.

Trying to pull up someone that unlike you, does know what they are talking about will only make you look the fool.

lol mate looks like ur the fool

So where's the money coming from? What 18 year old can afford a r34gtt and then mod it and fit and i quote

"ive actually got a 10grand sound system with full neon setup, wider guards, full Do Luck R34 GTR Body Kit, ive got Silver Volk GTC as rims, and this is why im aiming for my next step, big power.....im after the whole package

18x10 tyres ive got now, it just makes everything that much better".

At 18 most of us had to stretch our bank accounts just to buy a rusty bucket with wheels. Then we went on to labour for our earnings to even buy a sports car. Then the money to start modding the thing and paying insurance is enough to make lil timmy cry for a bowl of food.

Edit: Working for telstra? so your pay packet is better than most other peoples? at the age of 18? please...

you should research more a FOrd GT has over 290Kws at the flywheel and the HSV monaro has 297KW at the Flywheel

Just as a point of interest, in early 2005 MOTOR magazine dynoed both those cars when they were questioning manfacturer quoted specs.

FPV GT BA (290kw) 242.0kw

HSV GTO VZ (297kw) 227.2kw

mate theres some 21 year old guy down the street from me, owns a farrari, but he still lives with hsi parents LOL, but stilll gotta give him credit, and a coincidence his Albanien, they all rich

also keep in mind a well setup and tuned skyline will pull harder than a stock setup monaro, ss vu, xr8 etc

average power wins, its heaps better to beat them with less power

good point but that dosnt mean a v8 isnt as fast, i was on my mates Evo 6 and for some reason it dosnt even pull at all, but the guy totally destroys me

its probably driver exprerience, tune, car setup and how you are driving it

you learn quiet a bit after a few years of driving manual turbo

you cant just be expected to be the king in street rods II with 2 races and $$$$ to burn

they are marketing figures

at the flywheel on an engine dyno

so it doesnt count loss for gearbox, drive train, diff, wheels etc

so a 290kw marketed car usually makes around 220rwkw

we dynoed a friends xr6 turbo and it made 211rwkw i think they were meant to have 250kw at the fly

so, some have more, some have less but never get scared of xr8s, ss v8s etc with 290kw badges, they are bullplop

Holy crap, how much does your 10 grand stereo weigh? ;) 2 amps, 2 subs and the rest.... could be about 100Kg in the end. Think of the cable weight ;)

Well, you obviously just have the engine left. All I can suggest is a small punchy turbo with no real specific aim on power. GT-SS for instance. Torque is better than peak power in my books.

;)

the ;) sign was directed to blitz due to the fact his completely up himself

So if you want mid-range. Then why the hell do you want 300rwkw?

250rwkw equals more mid-range than 300rwkw

Speak sense boy, not madness

yeh i know but like i said i wanna get past the 250 stage, and for all the other reasons i stated above, thats why its such a dilemma

Got to give credit to Andru for his persistence despite getting flamed by everyone here! If the guy wants 300kw then just give him the advice on how to achieve it. He said he wants bragging rights of rwkw not power over weight ratio or faster 1/4 time, thats a good enough reason for me or for any car enthusiasts. im sure he will want to achieve other more important goals later (for example dump the stereo and get faster lap times) but thats a start. besides its his money or his parents money who cares. no need to stereotyping 18yr old whos rich. its not your concern. there are much more unfair things in the world. now lets get back to the topic( I have given my advice);)

    • Considering the price of GTR stuff now the answer is yes. That's a straight forward TIG or even MIG job. I'd put extra tubing inside, for extra strength and weld it up. Then use the spare seat as an example to get the bolster rails in the correct position and the re-apolster. If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for the pair as they are?
    • Hey team, paid peanuts for a pair of r32 gtr seats, passenger is in good condition but drivers has definitely seen some action…. wanted to brain storm if there was any way on saving it, or a shop that can do it. the back bar is snapped on both ends and in the corner.

    • Got a quote back Manifold is $1500 and the dump $740 My only concern is the stainless dump, and the possibility of it cracking, I need to look into it more IRT the dump It does look like it would be the best method though, albeit a costly best method
