Borrowed from Jay95's Leather Handbrake Boot installation instructions.....

What we need to do is take the centre console (the part between the two front seats)out of the car.

With the plastic surround that goes around the gearstick still off, undo the two screws that were under the plastic surround that you just took off.

Then open up the centre console bit and undo the two screws inside the compartment. If your car has duel airbags, then these two screws will be on the outside of the console, on either side of it. You can get to them if you move your seats all the way forward and tilt them forward too.

Once the screws are out, unbutton the to studs that are on the factory handbrake boot, then the whole centre console bit can be lifted up and forward to get it out of the car. Just be careful not to scratch your stereo with the console when you take it out.

Once the console is out of the car, turn it upside down and with the help of a small flat headed screwdriver, gently prise the handbrake boot out of the console.

The factory handbrake boot has a wire frame sewn around the base of it.

Once it's out of the console, you'll need to cut the wire frame out of the factory boot, and sew it into the base of the new boot. Just remember the way the frame is sitting in the factory boot. I'm pretty sure the high side of the wire frame goes to the drivers side.

Once the wire frame is sewn in, pop it back into the centre console and re-install the centre console and the plastic surround around the gearstick.

Whala - all done.
