hey guys, ive recently been in an accident and i smashed the boost pressure sensor on the AVCR so now that doesnt work anymore. i was wondering where i can get a replacement for it? i dont know if there is many apexi dealers in victoria so i thought i would ask and maybe someone might have a spare one or a sponsor might be able to find me one. help would be great as the car is nearly back on the road.

cheers

Hang on

...you mean to tell me i didnt have to order my PowerFC from Japan and wait aaages for it? :)

No you can order it from an Australian distributor however it will be slightly more expensive (around $1350) but it will come with a A'PEXi Australia warranty. If you buy one from overseas then you are not covered under the warranty as each unit can be tracked to the country is was intended to be sold in, thus buying one direct from Japan is not covered in Australia. Not to mention the legalities of "C Tick" certified products.

We tried to convince people a while ago why buying from the Australian distributor was better, however people weren't willing to fork out the extra cash.

Yer i see your point...

I think i payed approx $860 ($980 delivered) from Nengun with the hand controller so i guess i did make a considerable saving. Although, like you said, if something goes wrong i could be in trouble.

Whats this "C Tick" you speak of? :)

Whats this "C Tick" you speak of?

This is a C-tick:

It's a compliancing approval for almost all electronic goods. You should see it on everything in your house from your toaster to your TV. More info here: http://www.acma.gov.au/WEB/STANDARD//pc=PC_2796

As far as HyperTech goes, it's a subsidiary company of Access Auto in which they were manufacturing their own products. It wasn't a name change. They are also located in Vermont to be exact. For those of you who remember Access a while back had a garage open to the public however it closed to the public to allow them to spend more time doing R&D for the HyperTech line, which sells things like Titanium Tip mufflers. (see our website www.psiparts.com.au for more of the HyperTech range)

    • There's a huge reason manufacturers are tuning in dead flat torque curves... Make them reliable (and more drive able)
    • What HVAC actuator is under the steering wheel? Do you mean on the RHS of the centre console, immediately to the left of your shin? If so, then yes, it is probably that one, because that is the mode door actuator, and from what I know, it's still a pain in the arse to replace. I don't know about whole dash out, but you certainly have to rip into the centre console section. I don't know if it's covered in the workshop manual, as I haven't spent much time looking at those parts of it. (and by "the workshop manual, I mean the R32 GTR one, which is the most comprehensive one we have, and it should be similar enough between that and later cars to serve as a guide).

    • No I got mine from a friend that had fabricated one … but I had to fit it to my setup which was a hks turbo setup. His was a Garrett -7. So one of my turbos was not a flange for one side … then I had a leak in the welds I had to find a weld shut … in the end the setup was decent priced but I spent a lot to get it fitted. A couple companies I checked would make it but you’re talking 7-9k aud with titanium. No joke mine was 6-7k even second hand after I had to fit it in Hong Kong … labour is expensive here.
    • I'd just like to restate that I don't think anyone here is actually hating I recently sold a car part to a guy who was building a forged auto R34, with MV stall and aiming at ~450kw. I told him that I'm him, from the future and to stop after it explodes once. I told him I knew he won't listen the first time, and that's fine. But if my predictions do come true - Change direction faster than I did. I also said it's probably no coincidence that the dyno plot of a reliable turbo engine starts to look a lot like a N/A motor. :p
