I've always been a bit sceptical about that one, even though its been raised in a few threads. Plastic and cut & polish generally doesn't go together, so i wasn't going to rush out and try it without good reason.

Anyway, i got a bit of scratch on my headlight (ouch).. so i thought, crap.. what do i do, don't wanna spend $200 on a new headlight? So i remember these threads, and thought as a last resort worth a try. So i whipped out a tin of the cut & polish and see whether what it would do. !!MAGIC!! Cleaned up that scratch, and a lot of the smaller scratches and things. Best of all it cleaned all this murky stuff which i could have sworn was inside the headlight.. but now its all gone. Now they are all pretty crystal clear, which is good for both looks during the day, and headlight visibility.

Be a bit careful, i wouldn't leave it to stay on there too long (more than 10secs) before wiping it off with a cloth. It may leave some small hairline swirls, but overall its so much better. I was so surprised how well it worked.

Only prob is then you discover all the other little things that are *inside* the headlight - unfortunately the process to fix that is pretty damn difficult. You gotta actually split the whole assembly.. then reglue it all up..that is if you haven't shattered or chipped something in the process (likely)

Hey guys.

How easy was it to acutally take off your headlight covers?

Just a couple of screws or is it a clip-on job?

They can't actually be removed .. if u do you have to fully split them and reseal (a tricky process). We're talking about the outside - which can make a big difference to the overall look/clarity.

Gave it a go last night, came up well. Meguires fine cut. They have a fairly extensive range, anyone use there other products, just want to know as it is quite expensive and don't want to fork out for a trial! Are they as good as their price tag suggests?

I believe that Meguiars is worth the money you pay. It can be a bit of an outlay intially but I find that you will get a fair bit out of each bottle.

I use their wash gel, fine cut cleaner, glaze, canuba (spelling?!) wax, plastic and vinyl conditioner (inside) and the long lasting tyre stuff.

Obviously the cut and polish stuff lasts longer because I dont use it all the time but its prolly good for about 6 jobs. The tyre stuff has gone longer than the suggested number of uses on the bottle and the plastic cleaner is waayyy better than Armoural IMHO.
