thats the skyline tuning guide and step by step of which way u should upgrade them.

the deal sounds sweet. if thats the way it is do it.

all the best man.

Hey Joe,

Sounds like a decent trade and given he is a mechanic and a family friend you know then he could help you servicing and fixing any problems etc. If you buy it make sure you change oil ever 5,000km religiously!! Personally when I was looking for my skyline I would not consider maroon cause I hate it but if you like the car and it certainly sounds immaculate then buy it. In terms of mods if you know the driver and the person that did all the mods and the person that drives the car its much better piece of mind. If you did get a stock standard one and got all those mods bit by bit it would cost you a lot!!!

That's a pretty nice price, and the mods sound quite tasteful... you should be very happy. I was driving behind a R33 GTS-T yesterday on the GOR cruise for a couple 'o hundred km, and it's a damn nice car. I definitely can't keep up when it's floored... I'll catch up eventually though when other traffic holds em up :)

Also, thanks for the link cheez, I hadn't seen that one before, looks ace! So much to read....

Well...ended up no good anywayz! Went and had a good thorough look at the car today in the sun on a very nice and clear day...! I was there for about a good hour or so and there were several things I managed to pick that turned me off it...now I mean there is no way im gonna get an absolute perfect one I know that but this was no good. I mean it had the liitle few pissy things that were replaceable and wasy to fix and return back to original but there were a few things that just werent right...firstly it was a 94 not a 95 which had me on the negative side first off...i originally wanted a 96 and I was gonna settle for this 95...but its now a 94. I found out that it has been in a minor prang on the left hand front...on closer inspection i noticed that the bottom of the guard didnt line up properly...has a look underneath to see why and noticed a lot of sticky tar covering up whatever was under there...the guard rail was majorly pushed in due to someone jacking it up in the wrong point...! so then I was like...yuck...! the repair looked ok from what I could see but i mean...I can only see so much...under the bonnent...the way in which the cooler was mounted...a hole had been cut through the firewall which would have been ok if done properly except he'd or whoever done it clearly made a mistake and cut a massive ugly un even hole in it...not only in one place...but two...this majorly turned me off...few other things I picked around it just voided the deal and I was like...no way...even though it went like a bullet and motor seemed fine...there was no way i was gonna settle for this just because I could get it...so yeah...the hunt continues...I have seen only one immaculate one so far ('96 II just like I want) so i think im just gonna have to go back and try and crunch him on the price some more...so yeah...oh well...just hangin in a bit longer.

you might possibly be a little to picky dude, the holes your talking about do you mean the holes for the cooler are funny looking if so they wouldnt be in the firewall, or if they are holes there probably from factory that have had inserts fall out, or possibly aircon holes if its been removed. for a 10plus year old car its never going to be perfect and you have to be prepared to pay more for a decent one, if i was you id buy a standard one so you no that when mods are done you fully understand them. plus a 33 skyline has alot more balls than a v6 commy. or be a real man and get a ceffy AHAHAHAHAHAHA.

oi buddy

if your scared of the thing and it is only running 8psi then i think u should stick to your commonwhore mate nothing worse than panicky c**ts in "fast" cars on the road mate

regards

julz

Ive done the same thing as you. Gone from a commodore to a Skyline. Except I have an R32 & previously I owned a manual Gen III.

Theres nothing scary about them with mods if you have common sense. The only time it can get a little shakey is in the wet, and you get use to that anyway. I only have a front mount, pod, exhaust & running around 9psi. Its no rocket ship but it does the job. It also has mad Tein suspension set up and it holds to the road like nothing else :P

Make sure you buy the right one. I saw plenty I liked but ended up buying mine, even though there were a couple of little things to fix (hole in dash = $30 off a guy wrecking his 32 for a perfect one, still got a rip in the drivers seat = retrim anyway :O)

Just depends what you want. If you want a stock one, then hold out. You wont be very satisfied with the performance though. Other side of it is you know whats been done and you can see the improvement of your modifications.

I wouldnt be scared of buying a modified one, just check it out and see if it looks legit. Ive been extremely happy with mine, and would never go back to my previous cars as opposed to the 32.

    • Thanks for that Paul.  Do you think if I posted a picture you'd be able to remember where it went?
    • Sorry Duncan, I didn't get a notification for the replies.  Thanks for responding!  It's a full Android device, but does allow you to use CarPlay/AA as well.  This is the one I bought from NaviRS on AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006368602668.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.111.59aa1802JDzQ0E - the 2K 8G-256G CAM variant but it seems to have gone up by £170 since I bought it!  My purchase was £307.14.   It's not the fastest thing in the world but performs perfectly adequately.  It stays on standby unless I disconnect the battery and let it power down, then it's just a fairly standard Android bootup time from cold.  The DSP Equaliser is very nice and made the standard stereo system sound pretty decent compared to the stock screen.  Perhaps I can take a video of it when I get a sec. It *allegedly* supports the reverse camera, but I'm yet to get that working.  It has options for reverse cam (a camera unit can be bought separately) or 360 cameras (also bought separately).  To be fair it doesn't seem to detect that the shifter was put into reverse but I'm working on a theory about this as well.  At the moment I'm going without which is a bit annoying considering the car is an absolute canal barge but so far I haven't caused any damage I'll grab a picture of the wire I'm missing later today when I can get outside.  My theory, by the by, is that not only is the head unit different, but the CANBUS network has different signals for the different years.  I think this because I have a spare AC panel from a newer Infiniti G37 (as opposed to my Nissan panel) which wouldn't control anything except the volume when I had it wired up with the stock system.  I'm going to throw it back in and see if the screen will respond to it.  I've just ordered an arduino CANBUS module so I can have a look at the signals going around the car and see if I can spot anything.  I'm thinking if I can work out what it's expecting vs what it's getting I might be able to translate and relay the signal back but so far just a theory anyway. I also found this on my travels, so far the only one that specifically matches my car: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002822934280.html?spm=a2g0s.imconversation.0.0.33433e5fgttovi If you look at the picture of the before, it has the card reader slot, and the picture of the head unit is exactly the same as the one pictured in my original post.  I asked if they sell the cables separately but sadly they won't.  I didn't want to just buy this one because it's a super old Android version and only dual core - likely slow as hell.
    • As above, you did refill the coolant and burp the system before running it again didn't you?
    • To be fair - you see the same thing for every clutch. There's always someone making an installation error.
    • Just saw this, redacted names. It's on a R33 GTS-t Facebook group. Looks like still teething issues.
