From what I know, cars that are equipped with HIDs need to be auto-adjustable or at least manually adjustable. Most HID cars are also equipped with headlight washers. Not sure if thats a must or not.

Philips and bosch make a good HID kit but pretty ex since they are mostly OEM on german cars. Ichiyo (sp?) or catz from japan makes kit as well.

My mate installed the ichiyo on his civic and looks good.

Is your mates kit on the Civic roadworthy? ie doesn't blind other drivers? Did he have to get it re-adjusted or any special housing assembly put in?
