Hi all,

Had a nasty shock driving to the coast yesterday, I was changing lanes to go around a car doing about 20k's under the speed limit, entered the vacant lane and CLACK CLACK CLACK I thought I'd had a blowout on the rear tyre, sounded awful! Pulled over and thankfully it wasn't running on the rim like I thought but rather a big metal hook (looks like a broken rubber tiedown strap from a truck or trailer) was right up the guts of the tyre. Pulled it off, cursed like all hell and replaced with the space saver (piece of rubbish...).

I live and work in the Toowong area, is there somewhere cheap I can take the tyre to see if it can be repaired? I'd like to avoid buying more tyres at the moment, at 235/45/18 it's not going to be cheap.

Thanks to all who can help.

Depending on the wear they will refuse to repair it as it's a non-road worthy tire... and peoples opinion vary on what is repairable and not so be warned :(

I got tires 6 weeks ago... and need new ones already due to nails in the rears (pile on the road... dickheads) and fronts were flat spotted by a close call accident. I feel your pain 4x :(
