LOL Dude..... You've dug yourself deep...

If it's a standard item it would of already been "engineered" when it was manufactured or complied over here so you shouldn't need to again but then again you've brought this on yourself by ringing up and giving your identity LOL.

get a factory bar, factory wheels etc. make it completely factory.

go to another vic roads...

the thing is i cant go to any Vic roads except dandenong, on the system it says that i need to fix my headlights and my pod (which i have done) but it needs to be with a EPA letter aswell (which dosnt make sense cuz epa dont do pods) i called the dande office back up telln em i dont need to go, then she just told me to get a engineers cert. no paperwork nothing.

technicly on their system it says i just need a EPA letter, which i would gladely get so i dont have to screw around with the cooler, but the EPA cant issue letters out unless u get sent to EPA. if that makes sense.

dande office have totally f*ked everything up, the ppl there are tellng me what to do on their own and not by the book

hmm.. Im Starting to get a bit paranoid lately when i see cops, although i have not had any greif from them yet.

My R34 Has a GTR V.spec Intercooler fitted to it, will this cause any implications when the cops check over my car? I have the RWC from when i bought the car which was over a month ago and i keep a copy of it in the glove box.. :P

Just because they sell it does not mean it is legal ? They sell bongs but smoking marijuana is illegal ?

90% of the time when you buy an air filter @ autobahn or whatever they will be like what car you got... etc etc if u say u have a fmic there not gonna be like oh sorry we cannot sell that to you... and vice versa.

If your worried about coolers, get an Engineers report.

There is links/details of engineers here... just search using "engineer"

I play to have mine done later this year. Once i get brakes sorted out later on. Although it would pass now (as i have 32 GTR brakes) i wanna upgrade again and then do it all at once.

For basic things, most cars will pass an engineers. It only gets nasty when you have a totally different motor/diff/gearbox to what was factory, which is where i fit in :)

haha taken for a ride badly. if you put your stock cooler on it should be all sweet. as others said not bs on the defect :P put all your standard shit and go elsewhere you dont have to go dandy. they are very arrogent there and think they control the world. hence i never go there. ash im in your part of town atm. getting an e30 with a 2jz engineered :( but all is sweet as long as no metal is cut

do guys u recon if i change my motor to a 2.4L from lancer and rip out the FMIC and instead add a RMIC in the boot i will pass EPA?

what if i put drum breaks in my car, some one told me they are lot better than disc breaks, as the discs keep breaking a lot, do u guys recon i will pass an eng. report espicially if i am sleeping with his wife and sister?

some people are just dumb.

Windsor? lol, i moved from the west loooong ago :)

Ye, as long as you dont chop it up, and make sensible mods like brakes (unless e30 come with good ones) then generally there isnt an issue

E30 brakes are RUBBISH...

just another update, i put my SMIC back on with my stock front bar, thinking all is well, but VIC ROADS wants a engineers cert for the stock cooler and front bar......man they just not lettn it go.

to put the stock cooler back on with pipes its cost me 400 bux, now i gotta pay another 600 for a engineers cerrt.....this is crazi

do i actually need a engineers cert if i put the standard parts on?

Its a beurocracy! You changed the car from what Nissan had crash tested. So if you are killed or something fails in the car then who is to get blamed. Vic Roads dont know the first thing about cars. Dont try and explain anything to them. They just want to site pieces of paper and tick off boxes

The Engineer will end up carrying the ball and he has to wear the responsibility of deeming the car road worthy. Only if you take your car to an engineer for a specific reason, removal of FMIC, replacement with std cooler and bar. Be prepared for the engineer to go over the whole car.

He cant sign off a specific thing as being safe. It must be the whole car. So if your car was complied on the cheap then you could be in trouble with regards to belts, child restraints, the way the high beam lights have been wired up etc etc.

Be interesting to hear from ppl that have had to get the cars engineered because of defects. Did they inspect only the items listed on the defect or the whole car?

Is it all a little silly? Probably. But its the insurance age and the powers to be need an authority to say the car is as per the factory, and things like bolts have been replaced, the bar reinforcement panel is in place behind the bar etc et. LOL, one day you will need to get the car engineered after a major service :)
