Hi all

I have 245/45/17 and everywhere I ring cant find tyres of that size, so what else will fit?

will 240/45/17 fit? From what I understand the 240 bit is in mm between the ground and the rim, right? so decreasing that number just makes the tyre slightly thinner? Will say a 255 / 35 / 17 fit?

Thanks

Ian

no the 245 is the width of the tyre in milimeters. the 45 is the profile as a percentage of the width and the 17 is the diameter of the wheel it will fit to.

to give you what tyres will fit your rims we need to know how wide they are. assuming they are a 9 inch wide wheel a 235 or 255 will be fine.

again it all depends on the width of your rims.

if you are currently running a 245 on a 10.5 inch rim then no, 255 will not bulge out. if you are currently running a 245 on a 8 inch rim then yes a 255 is too wide.
