Found this on Ns.com.. Looks like fun, I need more practice at Winton. Just wish it wasn't so far away!

Round 2 of the BP Midland / Pedders No Bull Sprint Series is coming up on April 14th at Winton Motor Raceway. This is an excellent way to get involved in club level motorsport. These events are aimed at the club level enthusiasts or entry level into motorsport, and although there are trophies up for grabs the focus for these events is to have as much fun as possible.

So if you are keen on getting on the track and doing some racing you can get the regulations from HERE

and the Entry Forms are at HERE

The cost is $90 if you pre-enter and $100 on the day.

Anyone know what i can use as a bonnet tie down? How have people mounted the fire extinguishers in their cars?

Is there anything else i need to do before taking my car there. Dont wanna get there and fail scrutineering.

Mike.

I used a non-ratchet tie-down strap, with hooks at both ends and a cam-buckle. 'twas about $16 for a pair at Bunnings, I think. I got the blue-strap "Lion" brand, 1.83metres long. It's way too long tho - I had to run the loose-end back&forth between the hooks at each end. 1m would be plenty! I put 1 hook through a hole under the bonnet's front-edge, and the other down to the tow-hook, past the front chassis rail.

I mounted My extinguisher on aluminium strap (min 4mm thick I think, see CAMS manual online) under the front-seat mounting bolts. Get a blue battery sticker, I'd recommend a 3" harness (e.g. search ebay for a Monza one, $170, dated to 2011) - Legal tread on UR tyres (R-Compound or not)

ummm, Helmet that meets standards (CAMS Manual online again) Cotton/wool long sleeve/legged getup, NO GLOVES req'd?

Bring as much fuel as U can carry - it's $1.75/L at the track! (or 10min drive into town)

Bring an assortment of tools- and misc. bits, like self-tapping screws of various sizes - great for those lil' things that come loose, that U didn't notice on the street. (e.g. wheelhousing liners etc.)

Cable-ties come in very handy as well :P is there nothing a cable tie cant fix!

What was up with the car Matt?

hehe... had all sorts of issues :) Read about it on ns.com. Car was over boosting in a big way, how does 1.9bar sound? vacuum hose off the solenoid came off, also had part of my AVCR wiring loom melt due to being too close to the exhaust housing.. ABS issues.. the ECU started playing up as well. At least it didn't happen in a wrx points round. It's a shame because the car felt tuff in the morning practice session.. oh well next time.

More power = more trouble... ahhh, the fun of cars!

Nasty man, but you'll have these gremlins sorted out soon enough, then you can just enjoy it.

I've had these high mount dramas before... hence now having a low mount :D Was the ABS issue due to heat from the turbo?
