Trans And Diff Oil

Just wondering how often everyone changes their diff and transmission oil.

I know we all like to change our engine oil on a regular basis (I do mine every 5,000kms) but haven't really read much on diff/trans changing intervals....

Erm, to save a new topic being made.. Where is the gearbox oil level check in a R32 gts-t manual? I have looked everywhere and although i can find the drain on the bottom and some other stuff, i can't find the check/refill hole for gearbox oil. Is it just a 1/2 inch square bolt like the drain one? Where is it hiding? Driving me nuts!

About 4inchs from the drain bolt

Is it up one of the sides (<) or is it on the underside? Also what type of bolt is it? Allen key, 1/2" square bolt indented, outdented, or? Cheers

on driver side , some are a male and some are female

actually its one the passenger side. its a 14mm or 17mm square bolt hangin out the side. fill it til it comes out the hole. use a open ended spanner or shifter to undo the bolt

Thanks, i had a go at this last night... It was absuuuurdely tight, and i had a big assed spanner and was levering myself using my arms and legs off the chassis railto no avail. No idea how i'm going to get this undone lol, but for now it should be ok

use a big shifter on it taking care not to slip off the bolt. sometimes at work a little heat has to be applied around the bolt to get it move

or a longish piece of pipe to fit over the shifter or breaker bar for more leverage works good too.

no. you need nissan matic j. or castrol transmax z or penrite synthetic trans oil.
