how fast are these?

hi skyliners,

i was wondering how fast some cars are from the lights as i am one of those people who hates to lose and i only really race if i think i am a chance.

ah...um...of course i am referring to the people who have dragged these at the LEGAL drags not on the street from the lights...errr yes that'll do...

1990s TX5 turbo

VT Commorore v6

magna 3.5 v6

1990s laser TX3 turbo

how would i fare with my 32gtst?

are there any other cars which i should watch out for other than the obvious 180's gtir's wrx's and the likes

you should own most of them as you are

spend a few grand on a POD filter and a Zaust and you be good

i wouldnt worry about rexes either easy

I wouldn't worry about any on that list .... but watch out for S15 200SX's .... I only have Trust Power Extreme II zorst, pod intake and a bit o boost (11psi) and I run 13.33 @ 104mph in full street trim .... wait til I get a cooler and Power FC for some decent tuning (running so rich atm its not even funny!).

u will beat those cars listed...but frosty, u better go race a rex, theres no way a stock 32 will beat a rex, even with a zorst and pod ud really struggle, rex's r capable of 13s if driven right, as much as i hate to admit it, ive seen 32s with basic mods run 15s and high 14s at very best....

what if the TX5 turbo is modded? my mate is thinking of buying one and i wanna rape his car before he can say a word!

frosty, i am a full time student with no $$$ so my mods end where i see a price tag. the only thing i might consider is some kind of boost controller but would be one of the cheap (ie turbosmart) ones that are under $100. is this effective? what else could i do myself? i have drop in panel filter + CAI and i cut a hole behind the intercooler (replaced it with mesh so no rocks get in)

unfortunately andrew ur wrong.

a stock WRX is nothing... it bogs down and most of them are driven by suits who cant change gears to save themselves.

only one i took on and got beaten by had a FMIC, POD, a bit more boost and a zorst.... i got up to about his rear wheel b4 we stopped.

and yes s15s arent to be under estimated got drilled by one the other week lol full exhaust, computer, boost, CAI Box and POD...

well i think u all underestimate rexies, and maybe u imagine too many mods sometimes

stock 32s run 15s.....rexies r def quicker than that......

but i cant let it go until the other stuff goes aswell....

no in cabin adj, thats another unroadworthy bit

least this way u hide it in the engine bay and a cop wont c it...all u do is grab a screw driver to turn up and down, and lets b honest, as if ud eva turn it down...thats y i didnt get it anyway

u should drill them... i raced one the other night on half throttle and it couldnt get past... it stayed at about the same speed but didnt gain... it was wet and everytime i put the foot down (in 4th or 5th) the side stepped out so kept it half throttle.

supercharged v6 i took on at calder i beat by half a second.... so theyre nothing super either... 5.7litres will be a bit more challenging specially if theyre modified... my mates 300kw SS beats me.... just.

thanks guys ... took on a VN SS once about a month ago and i killed it by at least 3 carlenghts but i just assumed he wheelspun or something as i thought the v8 might be faster than my r32. sweet as i should have given my mate a go against his s15 200sx before he sold it. it was stock oz spec

I race a 300KW GTS Monaro about a week ago.

From 2 runs starting at 80km upto 2** he lost once.

And the second time only had a car and a half on me cause i had to wait for my 4500rpm boost arrival (curse the lag)

you cant underestimate the car..

like i know a guy with a 13 secon tx5

and it looks like shit...

and ive spoke to a guy with a sigma who ran a 12.9... unless u see what sunder the bonnet

and yes i think rexies woth and exhaust and boost will beat an r32 gtst with same mods
