Hi all,

I POSTED THIS TOPIC ON THE COSMETIC THREAD BUT NO ONE COULD HELP ME SO IM WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU GUYS AND GIRLS CAN.

Im looking at getting some new rims so ill be selling my old ones. Problem is i dunno what to ask for them. i kno they are expensive when bought new.

They are (i think) AVS, Ultra light rims and the are 17s. i believe they are 17x9s on the back and 17x8s on the front. The tyres are only a month old on the back and the fronts are ok. They are painted white. (im trying to get some pics up but they wont attach!)

They fit a GTST series 2 sedan They have a little wear and tear, not to bad tho still look good.

Any help would be great

Something wrong with the for sale section lately?

Everyone asked for it, but no-one seems to use it now its here. How about the mods scrap it all together, then watch the wingers come out...

He's not actually selling them....... he wants to know how much they are worth, to see if they are worth selling! As far as i can see there is nothing wrong with the for sale section, just these are not for sale ATM...... and i see no "expression of interest" section, Do you???

I sold a set of AVS 17x8 F and 17x9 R for $750 they were the twin 5 spokers, I'd say they won't be worth much more than that, I'd suggest advertising them for 1k because your always gonna get knocked down for them!

to see if they are worth selling!

lol...hmmm yer i think rims might be worth selling when hes getting new ones...

Its a for sale thread with no price listed, asking what people think they are worth.

Cubes went to the trouble of getting the for sale section people wanted, which then basically got unused. Now we have 2-3 threads every week or so in here that are just for sale threads. Is it too much to ask that people to follow the basic rules to use either the thread at the top of the page, or the main for sale section?

yes...i really wanna pm cubes with other peoples constant failure to post in a specific thread that others asked to have but refuse to use....:stupid roll eyes cos im the twit smiley:

As Deluxe said im only thinking of selling them! im not actually selling them, yet! If they arent worth selling them then i wont! im not asking for people that are interested in buying them im just after a rough price of wot i could ask.

Im sure if i posted in the for sale section something lik, i have these rims i dunno wot i want for them or even if im going to sell them or not what are they worth people would get pissed that i posted in the for sale section!!! i cant win!!!

But yes if the time comes that i definatly want to sell them and i kno what sort of price i am after i will put it in the FOR SALE section for sure!!!

IMO For sale section is not dead, just no one updates it if anything is sold, I bought a Momo gearknob and clear Nismo side indicators off grepin, he was a champ about conducting business, but I was unable to provide him positive trade feedback. I think the Forsale section needs to be revised.

and Adz, IMHO keep the rims, If you plan on going to track or AIR or whatever drag etc. Then Id use them as your f**k around set. You'd only pick up maybe 650-700 for them in worn condition or ~800 with new rubber so keep them. I'm buying a 1,200 rim set from tempetyres for this very reason. My racing harts will have to wait.

calm down Adz, i only ever asked a generalized question. Wasnt flaming you, but Deluxe took it the wrong way..should word my posts better

lol nah its cool wasnt angry just making a long winded point haha. sure ill check the offset tonight and double check they reali are 9s on the back. they fit under the gaurds on worries

Revised how? All input is welcome.

The trader feedback 'should' be up and running again, it broke last software upgrade.

Find a post grepin has made and simply click the trader number then click add feedback or what ever it is. You don't need the origional post to add feedback.

I prune old posts that are 3months old. That gets rid of those who don't update to say they have sold something.

    • From when I was looking at getting the 86 engineered for the turbo, the joint said to put in a few euro 5 or 6 cats, then tune the car on a nice clean E85 tune When I was looking at a turbo for the MX5, it was basically the same thing, a couple of cats and a nice clean tune Although, it will depend on the year of the Jeep IRT emmisions standards required, and what mods are done, especially if it has a newer engine installed that requires a higher Euro
    • Yeah - but it's not actually that easy. There are limits for HC, CO, NOx and particulates. Particulates shouldn't be a concern in any petrol engine unless trying to comply to the very latest Euro standard. But getting a tune right so that all the others stay within limits AT THE SAME TIME is not a trivial exercise. You couldn't possibly get it right by just guessing at the tuner's dyno, unless he had a 4 gas analyser up the pipe, which is not often the case these days. It used to be. Every decent shop that did "tune ups" (as opposed to tuning) would have a 4 gas analsyer. Perhaps there's still quite a few of them around these days. But most "tuners" are only watching O2 and power readings.
    • Slight segway but the most expensive part of the whole thing which I would have thought would only be required for an engine size/type swap, not a VIV test, is emissions testing.  That's when you get into the big bucks.  I can't remember the exact price now but I got quotes for the GT-R based on swapping to RB30 (not that anyone bothers doing it legally anymore...) and it was around $4500 just for that alone.  The guy that does them manipulates the tune on the vehicle to make sure it passes.  The cheaper option is to book into Kangan Batman Tafe (I think that's where it was) and hire their tester.  Allegedly you're not allowed in there with the car though so not in a position to tweak anything to make sure the vehicle passes.  I'm sure in this day and age of ultra tuneable ECU's you could get the tuner to program a special efficiency (clean) tune that emits the lowest amount of particulates possible that would pass the test.  It might only make 50kW's but as long as it passed who cares!
    • I'm sure he has left signs, or, he is looking down, laughing That's my cunning plan for when I leave, lots of half finished projects, with no rhyme or reason of where I was actually up to, just to keep everyone on their toes
    • Does that price include the rack time to straighten the frame and body and replacement of parts and paint, as well as the noise and emmisions testing  The last engineering certificate I had done, albeit about 15 years ago, was around $1000 for a few inspections and the certificate
