My r32 gts-t after giving it WOT a few weeks ago just started to go on/off power even with foot in the same place.

The problem would go away and then come back. Speed works have scanned it and said my airflow meter was playing up. $330 to

tell me this and also they cleaned my air filter, how nice of them. I could have bought a new one...I wasnt happy....

Anyway, bought a new air filter and a second hand AFM $198 from AGI a bit steep but no one else in Perth had one. It was

ok few days and has started again. I've resoldered the connections to the plug on my old one and I'll try that. If it still plays up

then the break is somwhere else in the line or maybe I was given a dodgy AFM by AGI which i have 30 day return on. I'm getting fed

up and pretty much have convinced myself just to get an aftermarket ECU running off a MAP snesor. I would still like to figure this

out though. It is driving me insane.

Just interested in similar cases and the fixes to them.

I had exactly the same problem, i would put the foot down and the revs would not exceed 2 and a half. it would just keep bouncing up and down. This problem was also intermittent, sure enough it was the air flow meter. Mayber you did get a dodgy afm, i would try a different one again before forking out more money

Hey champ,

I have a similar problem: there is my tread

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=164545.

However i go through a few things u should look at before getting a new ECU and AFM.

1. clean the AAC valve - there is a tread on that too, takes like 1.5 hours max

2. resolder and clean AFM which u have already done

3. Check for leaks

4. Check plugs + coilpacks (hairline cracks)

5. check voltage of battery and alternator (if u have a volt-meter)

6. finally u could get a engine diagram from this website or another and check which components lead to loss of power intterminently and randomly.
