forget pistons, short penned rods, slightly ported head, 264 duration cams, high strenght valve springs, metal head gasket, highflow oil pump, nitrided crank (x rayed for micro cracks also) etc will go in if she blows. I was gonna do all that 2 but the tuner said leave it and if it finially blows then do it. :D

that stuff will only happen if i blow my engine!

I hope it holds together for atleast 6 months so i can save up the $$ for that stuff!

A race port on the head which flows about 60% better costs $2500 alone

Ar ****... $2,500 - $3,000 should finish me off.

hey its just $$. And u r only young once. For me it was either spend alot more $$ and get a 96 GTR/350Z or even struggle and get a 2000 R34 (have to live on bread and water for a long time) or mod my car. Modifying my car was the cheapest option. I will get the GTR after the house coz u can borrow it as an addition to your house load and pay home loan interest rate which are very low

There is a method in all my madness!!:D

Race port for 60% better flow and $2.5k, dude you really need to take a look at who can do the work for you. Adelaide price, done on flow bench, 70% improvement cost $700. Hillsmotorsport quoted me $895 for a full port including extrusion hone. Perhaps you need to shop interstate, but I am sure there must be better deals around melbourne way.

$700 is farkin cheap! I got the heads done on my 250ci x flow cortina engine and it cost me $1700 5 years ago!

Alot more work to be done on a 250xflow, but that still seems a bit dear - have you thought of just getting an extrusion hone done? the stock heads do work pretty well from the factory. Even may be a bit questionable if you need to do valve springs, unless you intend pushing the redline right. I think that alot of shops try and sell you stuff that you really dont need. As you would have realised by now, you can just keep pouring in the dollars until the cows come home.

There must be someone on here that has had some head work done in melbourne, it would be interesting to hear what sort of results have been attained and at what sort of cost.
