Thanks Uncle Andrew...if you park the thing and its still straight and not on fire, then you just werent trying.

LOL...Ferni is right. When you are doing 360 spins at 180-200km/h the walls do look kind of close. Looking at the footage it appears to be a massive brake lock up. And looking at the laps leading up to it the car looks to be its usual unbalanced self. So sux but looks like it may have been just driver pushing a disagreeing car a little too hard :P

AHHH What a great day! Even though my car decided to develop a boost leak.....

Thanks to Troy and Andrew and others for helping me out today, if it wasnt for Troy i probly wouldnt have even been there :P

Was great to put some faces to names and see some quick cars - had some fun with the other DT people too!

Cheers! :D

Well done on your time Troy. From what I saw your car gets a little unsettled under brakes but you seemed to have it under control  I'm happy to finish a round and be able to drive my car home instead of the workshop :ermm: A huge thanks to Ray & the guys at RE Customs for getting the issues with my car sorted and tuned, it was great to drive today. I just need to get my suspension sorted... and also need to improve my cornering.

I was driving with no ABS today so it was interesting, locked up a few times including a massive 20 meter slide into turn 1! :D Hope you enjoyed the show Ferni!

I'm heading down to watch the big boys come out to run on Sunday for the Maserati club sprint. See you guys at the next round, and some of you at DECA. :P

So sad to see the Bullet get hurt TB :P

Otherwise - was a fun day. Massive thanks to Lowthy and his magic cable for geeking up the Evo's ECU.

Launch control on the way to work in the morning FTW!

...and again, see the times Riverdance is doing on street tyres! Dispelling some of the thinking about how quick you can go at places like Sandown / PI etc on street tyres.

And good work to Ferni as well. 1:22s first time at Sandown! I think we need to ban the new guys frm following Jack as they seem to pick it all up too quick. :(

1.23! Troy mate that is awesome as wasn't that what you were chasing when we left as you were checking tyres?

Sorry to see the battle scars on the bullet, never nice but sounds like you put in some blistering times :(

My car is driving well after Lowthy's magic touch, thanks mate and I definately owe you a couple of beers and need to practice that launch too!

hahah yeah it was hard to miss following you, locking up into every corner haha... was a bit hairy coming into turn1 and seeing you locking them up and not knowing where you were going next so didn't know where to turn i had to just brake straight as well...

as for 1.22.4, must be a timing error or something  certainly not driver skill, i had plenty more places to make up time, just not enough sessions to do it.

Had a great day in the driver training sessions, I have to say a big thanks to Jack for showing me the lines and offering great advice during the first few DT sessions, I picked up heaps of info.

Good to see heaps of quick cars out there and have a chat with a few of the guys from here, look forward to doing a few more of these events this year hopefully.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
    • That's not very Toyota of the Toyota!
    • Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no. For the strut top, KSM7124?  https://www.sparesbox.com.au/products/kyb-strut-top-mount-ksm7124?srsltid=AfmBOoq-HDru8wSlLnQrhU9gCw_uYdKg8gUQzONY-EQOdnI5iXOWEUjY 341287 appears to be the front KYB shocks part no.  thanks all
    • LandCruiser used to get a fluid flush every 12 to 18 months.   Only because it was about that often the electric motor on the master for brake assist kept dieing and needing to come off.
