Well it's still the same manual 6 speed gearbox & clutch as the std

model, but the clutch is activated by an electrohydraulic system that operates at 85 bar. When you pull the paddles up or down it disengages/changes/engages for you at a speed of 80 milliseconds. It even automatically blips the throttle on down shifts. There are 5 different auto settings (no paddles required) & 6 manual settings. It has hill gradient settings, launch control, shift lights etc, & is cutting edge technology. It is not a tiptronic box which uses a torque convertor. It is a manual, just without a clutch pedal.Takes a little getting used to, but once driven for an hour or so becomes second nature. If you get a chance take one for a spin - it's pretty cool.

S of S - purple not really my colour & I find the E36 a bit small. They are a nice car, but the E46 is a big leap in technology.
