Hi all. I'm trying to program my mongoose M80G alarm to enable the turbo timer function. it states in the manual:

within 15sec , turn ignition on/off - amount of times for which option you want to change ( 13 times).

Now i did it 13 times with the drivers door open but i didnt get the 13 confirmation chirps. I tried it with the key turned to ignition 1 didnt work then the second ignition where all the lights (battery, airbag etc) lightup but still no chirps. Does the last on/off step have to been on the ignition or key turned off?

Now, anyone know how to do it properly? Does the turbo timer have to be disconnected now since its already been installed to enable the turbo timer function on the alarm?

Any help appreciated.

finally i heard the chirps now, must be working. So anyone know what happens if the turbo timer feature is turned off and the turbo timer is running? What will be the difference if it was on or off?

if the timer option is OFF the alarm will NOT arm with the car running. when you arm it press and HOLD the remote button - it will arm and chirp. tampering with the vehicle will shut it down.

  • 1 month later...

Can a new mongoose alarm use an old one together with it. As my car had one installed, but has been removed; except the immobilizer is still there. And thinking i might need a new one as the spare remote does not unlock or disengage immobilizer.

Just did a bit of a search...the one in my car is an MX40 Dual Immobilizer...

What is it worth? Keeping it and adding the siren or pull it out?

Also need to get second remote to work? (not the battery)

if it works and you cannot find the unit- use it. $200-$250 depending on who fits it. can add a siren to it and a few sensors if you like.

if you have the remote I can tell you how to program it.if not they are $60.

I would have to find the unit to add the sensors and siren anyway wouldn't it? I would give it a go, if it has instructions.

I have the remote, put a new battery in it push the button and watch as the LED lights up, and that's it.
