2rismo...correct. We couldnt fit the pre pump filters in where we ran the lines....was too tight. As a result when the turbo shat out all the ball bearings most of them made it into the tank in the boot except for that one...which killed that gear.

Oil pressure was fine as it was a scavenge that was damaged, not the feed...good thing about the holding tank is the drain plug with its magnetic tip caught all the ball bearings so the feed was still good.

Motors good luckily.

damn that sucks. bit of 2 part epoxy and maybe some scotch tape should see it good as new.

i bet the pump gear for the pump doesn't come cheap :( but it's a million times cheaper than building the motor again. so thank god the oil tank caught most of them.

we have fixed it...put some s.s gauze mesh in the actual weld on fittings from the sump side...looks like it will do the same trick...and its better then nothing.

    • Finally addressing my catch can and oil setup Plan is to do as much as practical without having to remove the motor or pull it apart. (no back of head to sump drain/breather or oil restrictors) First step is a set of full length baffle plates from Hypertune and a Tomei cam cap stud kit. I could probably have laser cut and bent up my own ones but this took any guess work out

    • I spent the entire of the long weekend going through my garage and I'm now, after 3.5yrs in this house, able to fit a car in. The garage is quite long and the back half has a high enough ceiling for a 2 post lift but it's going to just take too much space and I don't think I'd be able to get around the car if it was in the air. So, in comes the quick lift. It looks perfect. High enough to do most things, I reckon even getting a gearbox out would be doable.  Does anybody here have one? They're fairly cheap (~$3k) considering...  https://www.dtmtrading.com.au/product/quick-lift-portable-vehicle-hoist-3500-kg-worksafe-approved/ I'm also a bit of a non risk taker so I'd probably still use stands when under!
    • Well now we all see it! I did the same. Then cut it out. Then melted half of it. Then discarded it entirely. So... you're in good company.
