i came across a few posts recently and i forgot which thread they were in?

some people say that the carbon canister is not really needed and some people have said they have removed them all together and thrown them in the bin?

my question is, is it really needed? and if not how do you get rid of it?

cheers

it's really needed if you don't want to get a hefty defect/fine when you get pulled over for a "random breath test" and the copper notices you're running without emissions equipment.

carbon cannister does nothing for performance, it's an emissions device. leave it in - it does no harm.

but if we did want to take it out how would we do it :domokun:

EDIT just found another thread on it, might just relocate it to an out of the way spot, might plumb it up so that the fumes just cycle through the canister instead of going into the plenum.

Hey Guys i just stumbled onto this thread and want to ask a question. A mate of mine just gave mw a D1Spec Radiator breather tank which looks exactly the same as the carbon canister but is a chrome alloy unit. If i replace the ugly black canister with this breather tank will it do the same thing??

The breather tank is hollow inside, does any body know what is inside the carbon canister?? (Foam,Cotton wool etc) I just thought that if I replace it how bling will that look! LOL :laughing-smiley-014:
