have a look at the sellers trader feedback, if its good then can have more faith but in my opinion get as many pics as possible and as much info. payment wise can do direct deposit into his account but he must have good feedback but then again anyone of his mates could have left feedback for him so do Cash on delivery. if he isnt dodgy then he has no reason not to do COD.

I am not sure if all places do COD for such large items or if they do there could be a large fee which you would have to foot in that case, but it is a good idea if you are at all concerned. Another idea is to use some sort of registered delivery system so that you have proof that the item has been sent, etc. Because as soon as they send it they get the tracking code and if they don't supply that to you within 24hrs then call you bank about the direct deposit or internet transfer and cancel it as usually it takes 48hrs for the money to transfer from one bank to another (internet banking time frame) and you might just be able to cancel.

Or see if they will use a escrow service? Or possibly do a deposit so that once you have proof of the item being sent you can pay the rest.

After an expensive lesson (16K + repairs) with the car i bought I have learnt and advise that if you are purchasing goods online sight unseen I would get in writing warraty's and replacements. Get as much detail as possible just incase the worse does happen.

If possible try get it through a company here so you do have some security. If you have to wait an extra week so be it. In hindsight I wish I waited 2 more weeks to get a better car here than buy one sight unseen from over east. As many people on this forum know my episodes with the beast. It has taken me 1 year to just get the car up to standard.

In future purchases I will always look here for skyline parts I have found that the members on SUA have proven to be quite legit with their parts as we are a small community word does get around.

Peace
