Hks Gt-rs: 2 Simple Questions; R33/r34 Kit Same? Does It Bolt Up To Stock Everything?

Recommended Posts

Like the topic title asks guys, I've just got 2 simple questions.

1. Is the R33 and R34 GT-RS kit the same? I've got an R34 and if I buy the kit which was intended for the R33 it should still bolt up fine since they're both essentially RB25 right?

2. Given I've still got the stock turbo, if I take it out and bolt up the GT-RS using everything from HKS will it go on the same as the standard turbo (apart from the new J-pipe/Hotpipe)? i.e. Will I have to modify my dump exhaust pipe or anything else?

Thanks,

Andy

Won't have to modify dump or exhaust....but on that note, if you haven't put a 3inch front/dump on yet, when you're swapping the turbo is your perfect oportunity to do it. (and it's pretty much a 'must have' for an upgraded turbo)

I've just swapped out mine (R33) for a HKS 2535, i think it would be considered the predecessor of the GT-RS.

Perfect bolt on except i didn't have the lines (which you will)

It will be like playing with lego, grown up style.

jump on nengun and you can plug your car details in and search for the turbo kit.

Do it twice, once for R33, once for R34 and see if you get the same kit and that should answer your original question.

Cheers. :(

Heres another question though. Can the GT-RS or GT2530 be bolted up using the stock oil/water lines? Or do new ones needed to be made up?

Nope you need new ones. Both lines are slightly larger threads, you can keep the lines but you need larger connectors going into the turbo, also the oil dump line will not fit as well.
