Hi guys,

got my car tuned to 233.5kw@4wheels (read my sig for the list of mods i did to the car. Now if i were to upgrade the stock STD turbos to 2530s wat do i need to upgrade to support the turbos? I have read the sticky thread on the Rb26 turbo upgrade and i read a few guys did it. But in the list the didnt specify which fuel pump they use and fuel pressure regulator and injectors.

So is it safe to say i need to upgrade the injectors(800cc), fuel pressure regulator and a 044 fuel pump? Apart upgrading the clutch (to jim berry specs) what else do i need? THanks for the opinions guys.

P/s : My aim is to get 300kw@wheels.

I'd be chatting to the bloke who tuned your car :3some:

Very wise man.

It depends on what turbos you purchase for the most part as you might need injectors/afms, you might not.

Yea but i want to have some sort of idea first before i speak to him and weigh out my options first(budget wise!!). On the stick thread turbo upgrade people who used 2530s turbos uprgraded the injectors but not the fuel pump (accidentally left out of typing?).

Well depends what power your after

300-320rwkw or 350rwkw really.

If its a street car i'd stick to the 300rwkw and go for a GT-SS (or similar) package as its the most responsive.

Then you wouldnt need injectors/AFM's with a bit of luck.

But then if you went 2530's you need a bit more gear, but you would get more power for the added expenditure :3some:

you mean if i use the GTSS turbos i dont need to upgrade the fuel inectors and the AFM? My aim is to achieve 300kw@wheels.

I sure am :3some:

Ben will give you more detail, ferni's car is setup like that and going well so far i believe

ohh ok if thats the case GTSS is a cheaper option for me then. This is what im thinking, since i will b doing mostly city and hwy driving i dont need a big turbos. Meaning i want to have full boost at 3rd gear will the GTSS turbos suit this application?

Will ask Ben when i get back into the country.

hmmm since you said youre on a tight budget then it makes things hard

pushing 300 at the wheels is going to test a 17yo fuel system. In good condition it will handle it but if youve got gunk filled injectors then who knows

For peace of mind and insurance id at least change fuel pumps. Try being on a tight budget and trying to rebuild an engine....it just doesnt happen. Outlay some insurance now. Its not as if a bosch 044 will cost you an arm and a leg.

The internals will be fine as long as theyre in good health. Get a compression test and leakdown down before the turbo change. It may just give you some foresight to take it easy before you damage anything or may give you some confidence in the GT-SS or 2530 route

will take into consideration. It make sense as well for the fuel system. I think the pump is about betweeb2-300bucks as apposed to the injectors which is about 800bucks.
