Give Gorden Levin Tyres in Emu Plains (Penrith) a call. They deal the tyres for alot of the motorsport categories in Australia and buy back a heap of the tyres after a race weekend so you can get some really good condition tyres for very cheap prices (under $100ea).

Now if only their A1GP tyres would fit under my rear guards :whistling:

Taleb tyres are doing sau'er specials for r888's for $120-$140 225.45.16 Just mention you are an sau member and be nice

Be careful of these. These are the hill climb tyres and are 3 years old and are from a large patch that were parallel imported. They are not really any good for circuit work as they will overheat.

Damn,

Are you sure? How do you know this?

I bought a set of these last weekend!!!

Oh well they should be alright for a few laps at a time (I hope). They do look pretty cool. I might have to put these on the car and try them on the street before I hit the track.

hmm, i'm not familliar with SG. When I last used the toyos there was G, GG and GGG. GGG was softest from memory. SG maybe one compound i'm not familiar with.

There's a Toyo Press Release (PDF) which talks about the parallel imported tyres. Basically what nfi said with more details.

Still does not explain what SG compound is for. The guys at Taleb tyres told me they where in between hard and soft compound. Now i'm not so sure?

It seems Taleb, St George and a few others were selling these specific tyres as I rung around and they all only had 225/45/16.

Who else bought these R888 (from Taleb, St George, etc) and who has tried them out yet? Feedback?
