Hippy he wins because he can drive very well(not saying some of the other cant). Jimmy races a V8 supercar twice a year and does it better than many of the other who do it all year, he has raced almost everything and has won in most.

Jim is an amazing driver, his caris supported by porsche australia and has the best local knowledge and experience of any of the competitors. he also has an amazing driver navigator set up with Barry Oliver.

But well done to the skyline an amazing effort, it looked extremelly well prepared and sounded amazing. had the chance to speak to steve and he sound like a top bloke. Lets hope for one better next year. munro how about u take down a gtr?

Nice effort indeed! Congrats to the driver too - did well to be that close to Jim Richards; a VERY experienced driver. Gee he's only won Bathurst 6 times :D

He used to race the R32 GTR too, back when they were introduced into the Aussie touring car races... along with Mark Scaife.

Well done tilbrooks and co. :D

Hippy.. Ok for 260rwkw in a R33 what do you need.

Nice turbo ~2300. recond. BB (Fit your self)

fmic ~1400 (Fitted)

exhaust ~1500 (Fitted)

ECU ~1600 (Fit your self)

fuel pump & reg ~550 (Fitted)

tuning ~i don't know umm ~300

Thats approx. - $7650

I remember when I was going to work my VS 5.0ltr here is what I was quoted.

170rwkw - Bit of head and cam work $1500

190-210rwkw - Major cam and headwork with roller cam, roller lifters etc. $5000

230-250rwkw - Supercharger close to $8000

So it evens out. I then added up is fuel consumption, insurance etc.

I wasn't able to insure the car with the roller cam or supercharger.

I would have then had to do a major upgrade on the brakes as honestly on the VS the brakes are total crap. They just don't pull up.

At the end of the day if you can handle not having that awesome V8 sound the Turbo is a little more economical and pratical around the shops local etc..
