hey everyone, a rather hilarious event occured coming home from stadium drift on the gold coast a couple of weeks back and i think it needs to be shared. The two cars in question is my friends ($20k) '03 subaru impreza RS and my other friends '88 ($3.3k) front-wheel drive corolla. we went the long way home through labrador and pulled up next to each other at a set of lights. mate in corolla starts revvin the guts out of the shtbox, im a passenger in the subaru and mate starts revvin back...its on! the corolla absolutely blew the subie away, it eventually made some sort of effort to catch up but it was well over by then. what i wanna know is could this be put down to shit driving or are the n/a impreza's just that slow?

*bump* - it's a RS... I would rather not get a Suburu then get a RS... it's like saying.... Ok, I'll go for a Cheese burger but minus the meat and cheese!! LOL ... but hey, Corollas have potential... actually a good platform to work on...

theyve both got poxy little 4 cylinder engines, and the corolla is waaay lighter.. not suprising if you ask me..

Your mates are dumb asses for racing on a public roads.. thats how people get killed.. Im not saint but I dont race on the rd!

*DECIM8 pulls out his GAYDAR, and reads its sencing of surrounding users.. +1000000 of gayness for all 3 persons in the story*

*DECIM8 pulls out his RADAR n cuts up licences*

My view on life is this .. If it aint a nissan its worth dissin ..

actually my brother just bought an RS (2.5L). no doubt its not the fastest car in a straight line, but for a stock car it absolutely hammers through the mountains. it's almost effortless cruising and on tight roads/tracks i'd say it's pretty much on par with a stock wrx and both the subies are miles ahead of a gtst. comparing apples and oranges - as a car, i reckon they're great.

recaro bucket seats, momo steering wheel, dual airbags, creature comforts, sedan, asthetically, handling ability, not to mention it's young age and low km - it's quite a tidy STOCK package. definitely an all rounder kind of car - and in this day and age, it's definitely something to consider at those kinda prices.

thank god its only your view.....

corollas rock, thrash em and they just keeeep on chuggin.

But yeah i agree what was said before, whats the point of an rs.... its like me going and buying a non turbo r32 (no offence to anyone who has one... but seriously) i mean it may look alright, but it sounds like crap, and they go like my mums echo.

pointless, and i hope your mate with a subaru realises that he should sell his 20K (holy crap he paid how much??) rs and grow some balls.
