Birnie
Hi everyone, There are a few 2nd hand Blitz BOVs going around and they seem to be pretty good value except they aren't plumb back which is what I'm after. The little trumpet section seems to be screwed on and I'm wondering if anyone know if there is a replacement for that part which has a plumb back attatchment. Anyone? fredzz32
i had a plumback section made for me from an engineer. cost me $50 it fits perfectly but i not sure that the blitz is well suited to being plumb as im having a few troubles with fluttering. Birnie
Really? Thats pretty interesting. The whole reason i was going for an aftermarket BOV was cause i now have fluterring on the standard BOV after the turbo upgrade, and i was under the impression not enough air was being passed thru so i had back pressure on the turbo compressor blades. Am i wrong? (probably haha) Anyway, one of these if peeps dont' know what i mean : http://page15.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t34217191 The pic shows 2 different available attatchments. R31Nismoid
1) Get a GTR BOV if you want plumb-back. 2) There is one in the for sale now for $70 3) Ensure you use a good sized vac line to the BOV to trigger it Thats it really Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/165344-blitz-bov-and-plumb-back-options/#findComment-3062643 Share on other sites
Birnie
Didn't realise that was an option! I take it it's a straight swap, no brackets/mods needed? Thanks mate Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/165344-blitz-bov-and-plumb-back-options/#findComment-3062815 Share on other sites
Pauly33GTS-t
having a bov is a myth. there is no proven damage to ur turbo by running no bov. CA18 and I believe some SR20det came with no stock BOV and I know of one CA18det which has been going on with its T28 turbo for a good 4 years without a bov. BOV are myths, but I love the sound. Birnie
Sure, no damage to turbo, but you have to admit that your turbo should still be spinning at a higher speed after a gear change. Besides, some cars didn't have intercoolers, doesn't mean there's no point Hey, you've got a Blitz Supersonic Bov !!! Haha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/165344-blitz-bov-and-plumb-back-options/#findComment-3062870 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
BOV's are not a myth on a Skyline whos ECU expects it to be there. Please dont post silly information. Birnie, its almost a direct swap... PM me if you want more details as i have it im a PM somewhere, just no time no to go leaf through a few 1000 PM's to find exactly what another person did. Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/165344-blitz-bov-and-plumb-back-options/#findComment-3063011 Share on other sites
Pauly33GTS-t
Nismoid... If you read I was stating that in general. BOV are myths... Ask anyone and you'll get mixed responses... its like PS3 v Xbox360 or v8 vs us... pointless argument.
