Ive had a Jim berry clutch in my car for ages and he said to remachine the standard flywheel as the weight would be better for the drags. Mine has held just under 400rwkw for months with lots or hard driving on street and at the track with slicks.

What ever he tells you go with that.

He's been doing this for more years than you've been alive. You don't stay in business that long by being a d1ckhead. Have a chat to Jim for 5 mins (good luck, he likes a chat) and you'll see what we all mean.

I have no need to chat to jim about clutches, i have my own place locally called DIRECT CLUTCH

DIRCET CLUTCH > JIM BERRY

thanks anyways :D

and hes been doing clutches for 25 years WOW :thanks:

Richard, if you're still reading, any idea what kind of power levels the cars that you know of that blew a flywheel?

one as low as 230hp exploded going down the main straight at oran park. benm i'm guessing was around 300rwkw exploded on launch at WSID. there was another guy on here with a GTR and a JB clutch and stock flywheel that exploded (Paul will remember I think he worked on the car, or knew the guy at least) I can't remember the nickname of the guy or the exact circumstance. a friend in a silvia had one go with around 200rwkw.

can probably dig out more examples but that should be enough.

    • So, we now have a straight and clean boot lid inbound and the car goes in for paint, again, on Wednesday, and will be ready on Friday, all ready to get cams and stuff on Monday  And by straight and clean.....I mean a brand new OEM one that cost..... $1300....馃槳 Sadly there's no clean undamaged used soft top version available, plenty for the power retractable hard top versions though, which is arse and makes Mark have the sads I could have waited longer, until a NC sort top boot lid eventually turned up, but I'm sick of waiting and said fark it and made it rain cash, meh In other naturally aspirated news, one of the guys at work brought in his old Corola which had a 4AGE in it, really nice clean car with lots of mods, including ITB's, man that things induction noise sounds sick with all of the dorts that makes you smile......maybe the NC needs ITB's, yeah, basically for the noise they make, but they're pretty expensive, but, they sound so damn good I may bring this up when I drop the car up on Monday, and by may, I mean I will馃ぃ馃馃お馃ぃ
    • If you squint hard enough those horrendous barracuda wheels look a bit like r33 GTR ones!
    • ....that still needs to be retrofitted to take R134A also.
    • The Frenchy's kit linked above, will cost you about the same as factory Nissan. The difference with staying factory Nissan is, you'll end up with an inferior AC system.
