Mate, aren't Skylines, like all Jap imports, electronically speed limited (governed) to 180 km/h? If so, how could you be doing 187?!?!

If you have an aftermarket ECU or a speed limit defender/eliminator it will remove the 180km/h limiter

A Stock SS will beat any lighty modified Skyline, let alone the SS' commodores with Tunes pushing 240rwkw.

Why did you bother running him then if you knew you were going to get pumped?? :santa:

i love all the self righteousness going on here

i'm sure everyone that has posted has done stoopid speeds on the street at some stage....

...not that i endorse that of course =P

wen we are young, always want to go fast..

i did 230 on f3 with my first car after got licence for 1 month..

it was 3 in the morning, wasnt racing anyone, noone was on the freeway, just wanted to go fast..

wasnt thinking first, den 1 month after that i write off the car, hitting a bridge at 12 at night,i deserved it fully, not good enough to die yet..

so only have the car for 2 months paid 22000, no insurance, and a write off..

now its really learning the hard way, i lose so much money, and keep thinking how dumb i am to do that..

i dunt archieved anything, now i own r34 for around 6 months and neva gone more than 100 or speed limit..

for me if i love the car now, i will do cosmetic mods, just for cruising not racing..

why wanna thrashed your engine and shit, press it to the max trying to be a hard c**t..

relax and you stay out of trouble..

so just do ur time, pay the fine, and dont do it again or i wish u DEAD or being paralysed..

If you could prove that it was still limited to 180 and it was an acurate limit then you might be able to question the accuracy of the radar. Just a thought.

what difference is 7km/h gunna make when ur already 100 over? :santa:

Amen Brother

Hey aarlan

I agree with you matey. I'm not saying I condone what he did. I'm just saying, that there has been enough flaming, so I won't do anymore, and i'll try and answer his question a bit.

try telling him that if he hurt one of your family members in the process. im sure your point of view will change dramatically.

fair enough everyone has had their 'speedy' phase. but do u seriously need to go 187km to show your faster?

So after all the comments in this thread, THIS is what you come back with.

This just underlines the fact that you probably will never learn or understand your stupidity & like so many of your other threads are right now trying to work out how to get out of your "unfair" situation. You truly are a poor excuse for a human being.

One other thing to everyone else posting here- PLEASE stop referring to what this tool did (or what you yourself may of done on the street) as DRAG RACING. I am an ex sponsored Drag Racer who's setting up to get back into the sport & trying to attract fresh sponsors when the sport is continually & wrongly associated with idiots doing dumb shit on the streets makes the whole exercise a lot more difficult than it should be.

The media continually get it wrong but those of us with a true interest should know better.......

what difference is 7km/h gunna make when ur already 100 over? :santa:

Because if its out by a minimum of 7kph, whats to say it wasn't completely inaccurate and you were doing only 120 as it would be well out of its factory tolerance.

so just do ur time, pay the fine, and dont do it again or i wish u DEAD or being paralysed..

LOL are you dyslexic or something.

There is a difference between speeding 2-3 hours out of the city where there is not a single soul on the road and drag racing in a city where there is a 80 KM/h limit.

Its like taking a piss, you can do it in the bush, but you would not do it in the middle of a busy street.

LOL i think you should give that reason to the judge of why you raced. he'll let you off with a slap on the wrist for sure.

My car is stock with no aftermarket gadgets, and I easily surpassed the 180 KM/h limit... i think its there as a guideline for Japanese roads...

    • Isn't there a fitting on the back of the balance tube? That's what the OEM boost gauge uses.
    • Getting a decent signal from all 6 throats is a challenge. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the stock balance tube is not ideal for it. I have done it on an ALFA 4 cylinder (about 35 years ago, so don't ask for too many details). We drilled 4x holes in the manifold runners, put in some fittings and ran hoses to a decent sized (I think it was about 20mm diameter) pipe that ran the length of the inlet manifold. So, it was quite a decent volume. There is a "tuning" balance to be found between the volume of the common plenum on such a thing and the diameter of the pipes running from it to the runners. You need the volume to be large enough to damp out the sharp spikes in pressure signal you get as each runner gets sucked on by its cylinder, but not so large that it becomes too slow to respond to actual changes in MAP. And you need the hoses to be small enough to transmit the signal quickly, but not so small that they delay the signal. You might have to have more than one go at it, if there isn't any actual success based wisdom to be had here. Hopefully there is. Anyway, I would not do it on only a couple of cylinders. I would also not care about "permanently modifying a part". Just bloody drill holes and make stuff better. There is nothing sacred about any GTR unless it is a genuine museum piece that you shouldn't be modifying at all anyway.
    • He's still joining you, he's just delayed it and won't have the fulleh sick ITBs...
    • The strange thing is this is a URAS front bumper (or clone of it). The bumper actually does not sit flush with the GTT hood - You need the addon to make the hood 'long' enough to reach the bumper. I have no idea why they didn't incorporate this piece into the bumper itself.. instead of sticking it to the hood instead.
    • Another thought on this OLD topic: When you paint your bonnet lip, leave a small unpainted back lip/line along the back of the lip, where it rests on the bumper. That way, the line in the back is much more prominent than the gaps in the front/under the lip - and it breaks the hood-to-bumper connection at the "correct" place, when comparing to a GTR. I'm gonna do this with mine this week, so stay tuned for pics!
