Boost is irrelevant.

Dyno is irrelevant.

Using it on the street... well irrelevant once again.

What a GTR feels like with 300rwkw... what on earth does that even have to do with the question?

All you've done is throw a few red herrings out to try and mask the fact you dont know what your talking about.

Its been proven time and time again the HKS GT-SS are more responsive than the bigger HKS 2530's

The GT-SS for 300rwkw is hands down the winner.

2530's are not the best upgrade for 300rwkw. Simple as that

btw - no such thing as full boost.

out of intrest as im aimong for 300awkw,what does it feel like...i gather it will feel very fast on street but track not so fast...right???

300rwkw from GT-SS has far more mid-range than 300rwkw from 2530's.

Being the 2530's are more suited to 350-400rwkw region of power.

So the GT-SS is going to feel a lot better than the 2530 if both cars are making 300rwkw.

If you had the 2530's you just have less response/increased lag time for the same power when the GT-SS will make the power sooner, and have less lag time

so 300awkw is gunna feel bloody quick to me compared to my some what stock gtr.as ive never been in a real quick car say 250rwkw with mates gtst

R32 GTR rebuilt engine with all the usual support mods etc etc

Airflow improvements:

Tomei cams 260/260 9.2mm lift

HKS cam gears set at zero/zero at the moment...

HKS GT-SS turboes with HKS split dumps HKS Super Drager exhuast system with no cat

Flowed and ported head ( work of art actually )

Greedy inlet piping kit

8.8:1 compression

0.5mm over forgies

PFC computor tuned with FC Datalogit by myself > awesome software a must have!

Boost running on the 12psi wastegates boost controller turned off

257rwkw on a dyno dynamics 2wd dyno on pump gas 95 octane at 12psi boost

Will post dyno graphs very soon

boost increased up to 18 psi and made 290rwkw. Boost dropping off though at 6000rpm onwards.

Made 324rwkw on av-gas in another car at 22psi. Pretty much at their max at this level.

If he does...cams...and all other modes..he will get to 300rwkw's+

Oh you will see my mods...and tune...car runs great....take note of the power figures for most...not all...because some have

dyno reading that are out of this world...

No you dont know, all you've done there is post up info to backup what's already in this thread, and a dozen other about the GT-SS being the best choice.

And hell, one of those results was 95 octane/12psi (250rwkw). ;)

Go find results from ferni/blitz and the other with GT-SS, i think you'll be surprised from the results as they are even better than what you've found there :D

they're pretty much identical to r34 n1's I'm sold and hes sold either way! i know that the 25/30's are a bit bigger and would be good if he wanted to push the envelope some more. but i think he will be happy with the 300 he aims for! and n1 or gtss will get him there the quickest!

hes looking at getting to a similar place where i am at! which is with 34 n1's tho mine have been tinkered with and are a little larger than normal.

I think a 250rwkw GTS-t would 'feel' quicker than a 300rwkw GTR simply because the GTR is so much more stable under higher power and their are no traction problems like with a rwd GTS-t.

Maybe at 8000RPM.........he will need to do cams etc aswell then he will...cheers

If the gtss are anything like the r34 n1's its damn responsive! and damn quick up top still! it would be a monster on the track! (if i ever get there)

The HKS GT-SS is a smaller turbo than the Nissan N1 turbo. That being said I believe they are also more responsive if such a thing can be measured. The N1 though will make more power.

The thing is the HKS GT-SS is a great turbo for a compromised market. You want mild power and response they're fantastic. If you want pure response then there are better turbos out there but they wont make the same top end. And now that i've mentioned the GT-SS top end, well they run out of steam just like any small turbo so if you want big power you look elsewhere.

Everyone will have their own opinions on what is or isn't a good turbo/combination. It just so happens that a lot of people are running the GT-SS + Tomei + fuel upgrade combo so it's easy to get feedback.

In my opinion they're great for street and track but like anything you'll get used to 300kw in a gtr pretty quick and then you'll want to upgrade again.... lol

They (GT-SS) ought to be the better choice compared to the 2530 when only aiming for 300rwkw as a peak. I think I've said before that i think an unopened R32 motor ought to stay around 280rwkw and do the rest of the tuning on getting the power up earlier. The less rpm / boost and peak power the better for your old engine.

I know what you're thinking did he tune that unopened old engine to 280rwkw or 300rwkw? You know in all this confusion I can't remember myself....But seeing how this is an RB26 one of the most expensive rebuilds in the world, you gotta ask yourself a question....do I feel lucky? ...Well do you PUNK?

The GT2560r Turbo's are a old code number by Garrett.

Today they have 4 types....ss,N1,2530,gtrs........these have numbers on the end of GT2860R.......ie...-7,-9,-5,-10 respectively...each having enough spurt to support...300,320,350,400HP respectively.

Your pass at 190km's an hour is more to me like a low 12 second car......what is your 60f time....?

It is the pinnacle of Japanese performance cars...racing heritage....and purposefully build to race.

Mechanically Unique4wd/4ws/2xTurbo's...and every know possible after-market product to enhance it.

We are lucky because most of the parts we discuss are 1/3 the price they were 5 to 6 years ago.

GTR Tax..lol....Its more like a go fast tax.
