Hey wanted to ask,

As they come in serial if we have a serial to usb adapter already will that work? Or do we require to purchase the usb adapter from you?

nearly any usb/serial converter will work, so its likely the one u have will be fine...no special requirements are needed (in fact the ones i have are much simpler than normal ones since you only need to use 3 of the 9 pins).

one with a FTDI chip will work best, but my suggestion would be to try the one you've got, and you can always get one from me later on (subject to availability) if it doesnt work. if i run out of stock, ill track down the cheapest one from elsewhere that will work (theres some on uk ebay, and on a US site)

Does this work on a R33 GTR RB26DETT engine?

and also, does this work on a R34 GTT RB25DET?

(on standard ECUs)

if so, i am interested

yes and yes, ive added u to the list. RB26 even support a lot more sensors than most other motors do, which is a bonus

Hey,

I've got an R32 GTS-T. The build date is 10/1989. I've checked my car and it's got the consult port. However you said "find your 23710-xxxxx part number." What part number are you referring too? Also is this a DIY kit or pre-assembled?

if its got the consult port it's almost certainly ok. just checked, and its 9/89 that was the transition month. i think one ecu model that i think supports consult started 8/89. which means i think all 10/89+ will support it, and only few in 9/89 and 8/89 will. the part number is the number on the ecu. if its too hard to get to (passenger kickpanel), i can always accept return (minus postage costs) within say a week if you find it doesnt work on your car.

i dont think ive heard of a confirmed case where a car came from factory with a consult port, but not an ecu that supports consult, so you should be fine!

its preassembled, plug and play. the only DIY bit is plugging it in and running the software :P

good question...i havent personally tried it...im sure vista will have messed up something to make it not work

so u choose the com1 (or whatever) from dropdown, and then it hangs? does anything else change in between? does the display gauges button's text change to say "Connect on port: COMx..."?

changed u to confirmed

also default cable length will be 200cm (as this will make it easier to route behind dash and come out the glove box and reach passenger seat)

Choose COM3

Text says "Connect on port: COM3"

tick

tock

tick

tock

Give it about 40 seconds (on the shitty work laptop) and it says 'Not Responding...' and the shittiness ensues!

:)

Nice.

u sure com3 is right? also what .net framework version and updates have u got installed? (if you know). got all windows updates applied?

id probably need to get vista installed to work out what the issue is. maybe have a try of all previous versions on the site and see if any work, or see where the others fail at.

parts have been received by the place doing board manufacture/assembly, still looking at either side of the weekend of 12-13 May for when boards are received, then a couple days from then for when first interfaces will be available (need the cable/connector assembled)

Brand new built Vista laptop from 2nd week April - v1.1 .Net framework.

Not really too worried now, gave the cable back to it's owner so I never got to run the diags  anyone on westside of Bris who's willing to let me borrow theirs for an afternoon when I get my XP laptop back I'd be hugely grateful!

just got confirmation the boards are being sent out from manufacturer. so should arrive friday, which will allow assembly to start on weekend. so the expected May 14 (Monday) start date will be when I will start contacting people for payment (subject of course to there being no errors/problems with boards, wont know till i get them and test it out)

number of people confirmed by 9AM on Monday will determine price. if we subsequently go over 20 people (but not before 9am monday), SAU will get $5/interface sold, which somewhat make up for all of those who havent yet donated!

well the interface itself will be compatible, but who knows what software works on vista yet? someones already reported ecutalk doesnt for them, so id say theres a reasonable chance it wont work for anyone on vista.

id imagine "some" consult software may work, which that is, who knows.

so im afraid youll have to decide yourself on that. worse-case scenario that nothing works, i should have a compatible ecutalk version by say, end of july?

also:

Software - will NOT be provided on a cd - can be download from here

note the change there - CD's will not be provided, as this would add a $4 or something to shipping as it would no longer be classed as a "letter" but a "parcel"

    • Hi everyone, just looking to see what's available in the GTR seat options, testing the waters on what's available. Wanting a driver's seat to replace my old school OG jap race seat, going to re-register the car so need a factory seat. Prices currently seem to go from $300 to $2k for a driver's seat. What's options are there, that's good condition and actually a realistic price? Located Brisbane. Thanks
    • Are these a plug and play setup, and do they need a tune, like a haltech ecu etc? Thanks
    • Nice work on the paint. Those 3 studs are long as.
    • Hi everyone, still chasing a bunch of this stuff. Thanks
    • Been over 2 months since I have done anything on the S15 and had a day off today so got stuck into mounting the radiator and intercooler. I ended up using factory bottom mounts as bolted in and I did order some gktech top brackets but didn't work with the PWR radiator so made up some with aluminium flat bar. Spent way to long on them but pretty happy how they are. Next job was the intercooler. Used some more aluminium flat bar and did the bottom mounts first. Top was easy as just one long piece and 2 90 degree coming off rad support and welded them on. The bumper support required some notching to let the outlets sit where I want so will add some reinforcement later to strengthen it. I have also bought ecu and waiting for it to arrive. Went with a Link g4x Xtreme but will be adding a ptmotorsport expander to add a few extra inputs over CAN. Went through a few different configurations on pclink to get what I want to allow future expansion for sensors and gearbox upgrades. Ordered gktech rear arms but looking at the hardrace lower control arms to have some extra adjustment too will see how the alignment looks after first setup. Got 2 more weeks of work before shut down and will have almost 4 weeks to work on this so planning on hopefully firing up mid January.   Also bought a 2015 brz with a heap of good gear, did noosa hill climb a month back. Owned it for 3 days changed alignment and sent it. Finished the weekend 2nd in class and only .3 off the 180sx best time last year. MCA Red coilovers, gktech rear lca, bolt on lock kit and tie rods, whiteline toe arms, cusco 1.5way diff and 4.5 ratio, endless brake pads, headers, exhaust, perrin intake and e85 tune. Electronic steering adjustment, nankang crs with koya wheels 17x9 +35. Have bought rear traction arm and relocation kit, extended studs and v3 tie rod kit. Planning on also getting flex tune as lucky to get 300km a tank with e85 and short ratio. Car is a heap of fun to drive and super easy to work on. AC in the line up at Noosa was mint in 35degree weather.
