Thanks guys, but dont I need to remove the existing paint etc before I paint? I dont have the necessary skills/equipment for that :P

last time i paint my front, didnt bother removing all the paint, just sand prob the top coat and make it smooth..

paint still good till now..

you dont need any skills to sand something..and only need some sand paper..

What about the oven etc for the paint? Or painting the plastic is not that hard?

hey

i sorta work 4 a custom spraypainting garage n ull need to sand the bar with 800 grade sand paper till theres no shine AT ALL!

if u dont then theres a good chance the paint will flake off later on.

u wont need to prime it so long as theres no major dints or scratches (depends how nice u want it to look)

if u get it 2 that stage i think ull b suprised how cheap places will paint a bar thats all ready prepared.

remember paint fades over time so just looking the colour code up on the net might not do, u might hav 2 adjust the colour 2 match. thats tricky.

good luck with it

800 is too smooth for spraying with paint, shouldnt be smoother than 400 grit - this allows some texture for the paint to stick to. If you sand to 800 or 1200 then spray paint, eventually you'll get a small stone chip and a large flake of paint will drop off. I've just finished spraying one of my cars, and had pleanty of advice from my paint supplier!
