Just what caught my eye when I read that first link..

It seems like there would be alot more damage than a fender & sideskirt being replaced if you first thought it could be a write off?

i can understand if u feel that way JVP but ive been around the r34 market for a while now and im telling you my car is the cream of the crop. u cant find a 34 liek this no where.

like i said 45 may be a bit to high but i wouldnt drop it any lower then 38.

I think you're being a little optimistic there champ. Lightly modded R34 gtt's can be imported for the $26k - $30k mark. All your mods, anything you've done to the car above stock, you wont get back your money for them. People are always going to compare it to the base price of what a stock model sells for, that's just how it is - your car is worth whatever people will pay for it. By all means you can ask for whatever price you think is reasonable, but you need to realise people don't see the same value as you - they just see the extra mods as a bonus - so you'll need to accept the loss if you're planning to sell the car with mods.

All cars depreciate, it's a fact - R34 GTR's can be landed and complied now for mid-$50k. Good luck with the sale. It's a bit cheeky to say you cant find a 34 like yours anywhere. There's a few R34's around with alot more mods than yours, they're just not for sale.

thats what i thought, but like i said all that was damaged was sideskirts, my rims, front bar.

do i have to keep repeating myself.

ive got all the papers to drove there has been no serious accidents. so wtf is going on ppl just keep comming on here and makn crap up

i guess i thought wrong because the side skirt is fairly close to the chassy, and i saw a massive crack, on further inspection they told me nothing serious, just a cracked sideskirt WHICH I REPLACED

i think theres still no pics of the accident.. am i wrong..

yes u r wrong

ive seen ur car in person there mate, absolute fine peice of work, but i defiently know ur cars been thrased there mate. and its entirely on ths side of "speed"

i asked ray alot about ur setup, half my car was followed in ur footsteps a lil lol.

been meaning to ask you about ur diffusers and where u got em lol.

but honestly ppl i would seriously appreciate all this bs to stop. if u aint interested leave the thread alone, if u wanna ask questions ask away, but id like to remind everyone else out there to not post crap they dont know.

ive got all log books and all facts writtn down, so im not worried about proving anything. but i aint gonna waste my time showing idiots who just wanna have a laugh at things.

fair enough, how much would u think is then?

if anyone would like to suggest a price id be more then welcome

normally I wouldn't post in someones for sale thread. but I was itching to when I saw yours. and since you asked for people to suggest a price I will.

I would say around $25,000 would be pretty fair.

If you want to know why I'll give you a few reality checks.

Look - it is possible he can get that if he waits long enough, though a $30 something price might get it sold a lot sooner. The people in here know the market better than most and I'd bet the average SAUer would buy a car $5K less than the average skyline buyer. Think of the R33 GTR's that are sitting on the lots on Parramatta Rd for $35-40K and are getting sold while you can buy much, much better R33 GTR sub $30 if you take your time and buy from guys on here. (I don't know R34 prices that well but you get my point).

I do think it is important that Andru is clear and honest to any potential buyer about what damage has been done to the car in the past. It could simply be that he made the accidents "bigger" for dramatic effect in want to post something good. If it was really damaged more and he's trying to cover that up - that wouldn't be a good thing.

r34s which are going for low 20s or mid 20s usally have 80,000+ kms on the clock.

ive checked with kamakaze motors and they are selling immac 34s with 40,000kms on the clock at around the 30k mark.

adding into account my $8000 sound system including $500 worth of sound dentening and $1600 Headunit, leather seats and other items that are limited editions or out of stock (eg PFC, ect ect)

i would think the car would be worth more then $38,000

Some constructive criticism; mods may not (usually dont,) increase the value of a car. In fact, chances are it will decrease it. (ie. mint unmodified VL Calais Turbo's are fetching upwards of $20k, but modded examples may only be able to get half of this)

If I was in the market for another skyline, each of the mods are looked at as almost disposable. Electronics age very quickly, and in 6 months, newer, improved equiptment will be available.

Sound deadening, stereos etc; dead weight. I am not willing to pay extra for a slower car. Each to their own.

Dealerships prices are, in my opinion, a rip off to begin with. They also often offer waranty, service etc, that can't be offered with a private sale.

They number of owners a car has is just as important as the kms, age, and mechanical condition of the car.

I would say mid 20's.

Good luck with the sale.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion once you ask for advice on a sale... and every owner is entitled to think what they want with their sale - mate you've shot yourself in the foot here by being dishonest and trying to mislead people, in addition to being plain naive!

A dollar over $28K and you'd be doing well (from someone who doesn't read this forum/NS... otherwise forget the sale completely). I paid $26K for http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=155766 and I'd take that car over yours for the same price any day of the week... plus I'll be fitting my new leatherette set properly.

welll outta that 12grand difference there is a $8k difference in sound systems, and 4k+ in engine mods, my car is pulling 250rwkw, there aint alot of R34 GTTs out there.

Just curious, do you have a dyno sheet to prove the power output you're claiming? If I were buying a car based on this, I would ask to see it. Also, have you changed your injectors? fuel pump? Who tuned the car? be prepared to answer those questions from prospective buyers.

ive seen ur car in person there mate, absolute fine peice of work, but i defiently know ur cars been thrased there mate. and its entirely on ths side of "speed"

FYI, my car runs over 300rwkw all day every day. The engine is built for it, so yes you could say it takes a thrashing on the track.. but that's the idea :(

    • A year of slogging through this bearing issue and finally fixed. What a nightmare. The oil pressure increase did not fix the problem. If you would like to read all the details in case you ever run into a similar issue visit my thread on Yellow Bullet. https://www.yellowbullet.com/threads/continuous-rod-bearing-issues.2689569/?post_id=74193031&nested_view=1&sortby=oldest#post-74193031 In the end the rod bearings themselves were the issue. I had switched from ACL (first engine) to King because that was all we could get at the time and I thought nothing of it. Put the ACL's back in after a year of taking the pan off multiple times to change many things. Issue resolved. Can't believe it was just the bearings themselves all along. It has now been about two years since I drove the car on the street or had it at the track. At some point I had installed all solid and spherical bushings in the rear but had never aligned it since it just went on and off the dyno. Alignment was the first thing to do. (Old photo but same concept) Then I took the transmission out and went through it. This was my first gearset install and I've done about 15 since this one and learned a lot and wanted to apply some of these tweaks to mine. The aftermarket shift forks take very well to some modification and I wanted to make that change. Shifts are now super smooth and no having to find the gear. I also recut the 5th and reverse shift sleeves - always wanted to try this and see how well it works. It works very well! No grinds or having to do a second attempt going into reverse and 5th is perfect. Before During After Going back in In rummaging through my spare trans parts box I found the only parts I've ever broke on a stock trans; the 3-4 shift fork - twice!
    • It also depends on gearbox ratio. Those drag cars running 7s passes aren't doing it on an overdrive gear ratio (probably). 1:1 is "fine", the critical RPM for a 50' single driveshaft in chromemoly is 6900rpm.... ....but when you shift into 5th and use 0:73 or 0:8 it all changes. Do you know their rear diff ratio? etc. That's the stuff that matters with regards to it. Whether it actually matters given your use application is also relevent. You may never get into those scenarios, like most ruined GTR's from Western Sydney don't :p
    • but for how long? would it handle a few laps around SMSP in anger?
    • And over it. Need to stop it coming through the floor.
    • Is it running the standard ECU? some sort of data log might help understand where timing, AFRs etc are at.  If it is standard ECU something like Nissan Datascan would help
