West
Hi, I was wondering if i put a STANDARD RB25 muffer on my *HOT UP* 1.3lt Starlet turbo, would that consider as an upgrade since a standard 2.5lt turbo still by theory flow more than enough for a 2.5inches aftermarket system on a 1.3lt turbo anyway? Only reason is i've got a 5zigen cannon on it at the moment and its really anoying. Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/165834-question-about-muffer-size/ Share on other sites
limpus
just get a proper 2.5" system made up...saves you time and hassle...a 2.5" system on a starlet turbo is about right...i've even seen good results from a 2.25" system... Mate, I've got a system, its just the cannon on it that anoy the crap out of me and i'm ain't going to spend $$$ on another aftermarket muffer so i was thinking even standard RB25 muffler should DO THE TRICK. mad082
the stock skyline muffler will probably be a bit more restrictive than the 5zigen Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/165834-question-about-muffer-size/#findComment-3071040 Share on other sites

kimbod
I had a TX3 turbo ,4wd. Had a big system put on it but the droning noisy was giving me a headache. I tried everthing but couldn't fix it. Went to an exhaust place near me run by an older guy. The problem is with these smaller engines at normal cruising speed is the exhaust gas doesn't fill the muffler so you get this surging and resonance. He had up a mute, really just a washer that fitted in the tip to back choke the muffler and keep it full. worked wonders, got rid of the droning and since it is so far from the engine it doesn't cause restriction probs.
