Hi,

If I were to upgrade my standard intercooler, I'd really prefer to keep it hidden. (I just don't like the look of FMIC's) Are there any options for keeping the intercooler(s) hidden, such as using two small intercoolers on the corners (like a 300ZX?), or even a large intercooler mounted over the engine, with a bonnet scoop. :)

Thanks,

Greg.

I have always thought about a water to air IC for RBs.

Use an STI or other upgraded WRX top mount cooler, with some aluminium plate welded to it to seal it up with a few Speedflow fittings. Then from a wrecker grab the pump/heat exchanger and associated bits off a Celica/Liberty water to air setup. (or spec up your own)

You can leave your front bar alone, with the 'black' heat exchanger taking up minimal room, extremely short inlet tract for good throttle response. Very stable inlet temps, better in slow day to day grind.

Down side is weight, outright effeciency is down on air to air.(In theory at speed with good airflow. then air to air is better, but on the street some would argue water to air is better)

Also price, the setup will cost you the same as a GTR cooler, but plumbing is easier and cheaper.
