i was wondering if installing a safc will make a big dirrernce i curently have

- air pod

- zorst

- intercooler

-boost controller

- fuel cut defender

on this setup i made 198kwrw on 11 psi i was looking for abit more power around 15kw i was wondering what gains i will get from a safc and can it be used with a fuel cut defender or is it piontless

thanks

not pointless at all with your setup. The SAFC is the entry point to engine management. I'm no expert but a good tuner may squeeze 15+kw gain over the stock ECU map at a guess.

IN the old days when I ran an e-manage, only cat back zorst & R34 SMIC upgrade I had gains of that order. I was initially running the same, but stock boost of 7psi and it went from about 155-160 to 175 with the Emanage which does essentially the same thing as the SAFC.

It works by tricking the ECU into thinking it's got a different amount of airflow which than allows you to add/remove fuel and lean it closer to 12:1 AFR... Problem is, it just changes where on the fuel/ignition maps it is, so timing is changed accordingly which can cause issues..

Good if you don't have enough for a PFC and using stock turbo.. should get around ~200kw with average mods as above..

Went the SAFC after all hey?

That's OK, so did I initially and there's nothing wrong with that.

just don't pay too much for installation if you're getting someone else to do it.

If you're on a budget, ask around on the forums and get someone to do it for you.

When i sold my SAFC-II 2 years ago (?) i also installed it for the guy for a case of beer.

Bit fiddley but not too hard.

Good luck with it, and if you can, ask the tuner for a before and after printout and post it up.

:P
