i've got an annoying problem with my ceffy, i've only ever owned 2 door cars and clearance for big wheels isn't really an issue on them. i'm running the dishies from my onevia on my ceffy and while it looks off tap i'm getting fouling issues with the rear bar where the side extension bits become part of the wheel arch. what can i do to fix this? its slowly (well pretty quickly) wearing away over bumps and what not and entering/exiting driveways it scrubs hard. thought about cutting it away but i don't want it to look shit - i still want to keep the smooth flow all the way around the wheel arch if i can

what have you guys done to stop this?

oh i have coilovers but at the moment budget doesn't stretch far enough for stiffer coilovers...

cheers ryan, i'll see if i have any :D

the rear wheels are 18x10+13

and about stretch, i think i have enough - running 225's and don't want to go narrower

hehe, 18 x 11 -11 with 245/40/18 on the back of the ceffy, only about an inch of tread outside the guards, going to put some 235 federals on her soon for winton praccy day next weekend, and some severe guard bashing and see how it goes :(

i've already rolled my guards as i own a guard roller so that makes life easier - the bit i'm having problems with is the part of the rear bar that joins up to the bodywork. i've been told i should get adjustable traction rods so i can pull the wheel forwards in the wheel arch but its only my daily and don't really want to spend money on adjustable suspension elements besides my coilovers

simon: i'm assuming your 18x10's were in the +35 to +40 range for them to fit on your 4 door yeah?

yeah its damn annoying too. can just squeeze a car in past it but its actually easier to reverse through the open one and swing hard into the other side - which is where the onevia currently sits. ps someone buy it :P

hehehe , just cut it down :D

wud this be da matte black 1via?

if this is the one then yes

buy it :) will be painted soon

How about just get smaller wheels? Like, they just dont fit hey. Its like the kid with the square block and the round hole.

well they do fit, just not that little bit on the rear bar. my mate has the same problems with 17's that are just inside his guards too.

and i'm not spending any more money on the ceffy, wheels are off of my onevia and considering how much i paid for them i'm gonna get some use out of them so on the ceffy they went :)
