i have the same problem, but my rear wheels seem to sit far back in the wheel arch, not in the center. i got my idea y though.

traction arms...but then you'd be changing the way the car feels, and for drifting should be slightly lengthened instead of pulled back, but hey, if its just a daily...

EDIT: my car also has the same problem, and running wheels that fit a fair way out of the guards, so im going to try modifying my mounting point with bolt on flares, see if that works
