Hi guys,

Did a bit of searching around and noticed that, Most of the time attack lists and other times posted are all SAU related. Whos the Fastest track going GTR ( or Skyline) that is of course RB powered, In australia. And how do our fellow SAU drivers compare. Now obviously most of our SAU guys are privateers And i bet they are up there with the best of them, Sponsored guys and other Private guys who are Not SAU affiliated.

Maybe we can formulate some sort of list.

Unless someone knows of a list thats already out there I just cannot find :worship:

In Vic - the 4 fastest GT-R's I know of are: (all times on R Comp tyres)

1. Sam Marcov (R32 GTR) - times include 1.15 at Sandown and 1.29 at Winton

2. Ben Derks (Racepace R33 GTR) - 1.16 at Sandown and 59s at Calder

3. Frank Picconi (R33 GTR) - 1.31 at Winton and 1.43 at Phillip Island

4. John Kennedy (R33 GTR) - 1.16 at Sandown and 1.43 at Phillip Island

Not sure how the Berry/Newman (giant) GTR would stack up against these lot these days but I'd expect that they'd be right up there. Although I still don't see them touching the Marcov GTR yet.

yeh and he claims a 1:14 around the national track....thats average supercar times incase people arnt aware. Also those claims are made all on re55 semi slicks.

Also on a side note his car is a r33 gtst...not gtr.

Yeah I've seen a write up on that car, but seriously 52.8 (Sprint) and 1:14 (National) is just stupidly quick, that's over 2 seconds quicker than giant's car! I'd pay to see that :whistling:

Sam Markov (SM Motorsport) 1.42's around the Island..............not too shabby for a bloke from the country.

Who cares if the car is quick. The thing is so well presented and built, thats enough for me. The fact that its damn quick to boot is a bonus. It is the best put together car i have seen around the traps. The level of finish is better then most State series cars :P

I dont know much about the car, as i think its changed a bit since i had a good look at it.

Its a beautifully stripped R32, white wtih fully colour coded interior, single seat only. It used to run an Rb26 with a small single, around the 3076 mark. I have since heard it now has an RB30 with bigger single, but based on the results of lots of GTRs of late could have reverted to twins as last time i heard it out at PI it didnt sound like it was running a single.

Was running 17" wheels, neat cage and rationalised loom and wiring. The thng is beautifully prepared and i have an idea of some of the other mods it runs but cant be sure so wont speculate.

He used to own a red R32 with similar mods and state of tune, which was made from a spare Gibson shell. I understand he sold that car to a buyer in QLD and the white car is his EVO 2, incorporating the things he got right on the first car and fixing the things he got wrong

    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
    • My Fuga Hybrid is JDM, 2014 model but very similar to the V37 from the looks of things..same platform just physically larger and very comfortab;e
    • Was that Australia Delivered Duncan? Does it have siren etc?   I used to have remote start on an old 32 two decades ago, it was a cool feature. I used to wake up early in winter for work. Start it and by the time i was out the door a few minutes later the engine was warmed up and the heaters had the car toasty. It was great.    I don’t mine the ambience lighting.  I drive a western star and it has footwell lights and ambient lighting and it’s great! From the pics of seen of them installed in a skyline I think it’s a nice touch
    • re the security system, my Fuga/Q70 has the factory option where the puddle lights in the mirrors turn on when the prox key is detected, it was clearly dealer fitted and has a switch in the lower dash to disable it....it didn't have remote start but TBH I don't really miss that, I had it in the Stagea originally but never used it....we don't often have to warm the car up in the snow before we get in for Australia. And the Fuga also has the illuminated footwells, sounds like a useless feature but I actually quite like the indirect light within the car, it was a nice addition
    • Ok now I’m extremely jealous
