DRAG GTR 1000+HP OS Giken Race Engine, 6 Speed Holinger Sequential Gearbox. $120,000

Immaculate R33 GTR purchased in 2000 with only 13000km. Developed from standard road GTR into one of Australia's highest modified Drag GTRs. Numerous magazine articles including HPI magazine's 3 Litre Streeter. OS Giken RB30 race engine has HPC coated dry sump, ported race head with oversize valves, custom manifolds & plenum, GT42 Turbo, MSD coils, water to air intercooler, 12 x 1600cc injectors, Motec M800 & CDI with datalogging, huge magnaflow fuel pump & custom tank, Dedenbear water pump, OS Giken Quad plate clutch, Apexi hydraulic torque controller, Line locker, ATS 1.5 way front & rear diffs, HKS suspension, Carbon fibre brakes with Strange engineering aluminium calipers, Velo Carbon/Kevlar race seat, Momo steering wheel, custom dash with Autometer gauges, Custom lightened doors, Custom front bar, Deist parachute, Moly Roll cage, Willans harness, HP fittings & quality braided line used throughout car. ANDRA tech inspected.

GTR has had limited use due to no track in Adelaide. Best time so far is 9.45 153mph. Has been out of action for a number of years while undergoing further changes & current setup has fresh engine build, fresh Holinger gearbox, brand new paintjob, new intercooler & ignition setup, brand new turbo & wastegate, etc etc. Too many custom details to list. Over a quarter of a million dollars has been spent on this car over the last 7 years.

The car is now finished & was tested at Heathcote in mid April. Running only low boost & conservative tuning the GTR ran 9.9 145mph. This GTR is magnificent to drive & has been built by Willall Racing with the best of everything. It has the potential to run into the eights on radial tyres & any buyer with regular access to a track will have no problems doing so.

I am looking for an outright sale, but will consider a trade in. If the right sports car came up I may trade the GTR + cash balance for it.

A 4WD race car with almost 1hp per kilo & carbon fibre brakes that can almost lift the rear tyres off the ground is an amazing thrill to drive & will impress any hard core driver game to take the wheel.

Thanks Brett.

A number of reasons. Main one is fairly obvious - No track to race on in Adelaide.

Been waiting for years for them to get their act together & I have just had enough.

It is hugely expensive to race these cars interstate on a regular basis.

I am running a small business that is open 7 days a week.

I have a toddler & a new baby on the way.

Between business & family commitments it has just become all to hard &

I have lost interest.

Whoever does buy the car (unfortunately will probably go overseas) will get

one of the most highly developed & professionally finished GTRs around

at a fraction of the cost to actually build one to this level.

It has been awsome to own & drive - wish I got more use out of it but thats life.

Full boost has some good photos of it from Heathcote a couple of weeks ago

at the LS1 Drag Nationals.

Seriously the next person that posts anything other then genuine interest in buying Johns car will be banned, pm him if you have other question

John and Keir as far as I'm concerned are pioneers of drag/big hp skylines with the development and times they ran in Australia, many of us would even class them as legends

Please give John the respect he deserves or I will BAN you

Hi John, been a while mate.

Bradley Here.

Congrats on the new family members.

I remember the day you first bought it and going for a cruise oh how things change.

Even the colour is changed, looks sweet :D

Anyway i wasnt sure if you still had the footage of it in full flight, so i hope you dont mind me posting it here.

9 meg AVI - http://www.users.on.net/~danzig/Munro-9seconds.avi

Save it out to you Laptop if you don`t have it already.

Ill have to catch you up soon one day.

To anyone interested in this car, it is a machine that is worthy of ownership and has had tender loving care thru out its ownership, i was lucky enough to witness it being developed from stock and would be a worthy buy.

Good luck with the sale John, hope to catch you up soon.

Moderator dont ban me please we go way back and all, thanks.

Regards, Bradley, aka GTR King.

    • CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) has existed since the 80's. I'm looking into buying a Hummer H1 and they generally included it.
    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
