Hi

just got a XBOX 360 as a gift and need recommendations on what games to get?

Ive always had playstations since they first come out (will be getting a PS3 soon after I get bored with the 360), mainly played car racing games (GT1,2,3 &4) and little bit of shooting and sports.

so something with good graphics, not too complicated but fun, and also multi player capable so you can play with mates.

cheers

Gears of War is fun...

ive got saints row and Tony Hawks P8 but havent played either yet... but apparently Saints Row is alot of fun too...

P.S. does anyone have Dead Rising that they dont want anymore and would sell/trade?

dead rising was discontinued about november last year for no apparent reason. You can still get it if you find it, but there are no official copies coming into australia anymore.

Also saints row is going classic soon so it will be 49.95.

+1 for Gears of War, it has offline 2 player splitscreen co-op in campain mode and is still awesome.

GRAW 1 & 2 are also both pretty good, they both have lots of multiplayer options and support offline 4 player splitscreen. I'd say that I liked GRAW 2 more than 1 in regards to multiplayer, because it has more maps. GRAW 1 had a few good ones, but some were really small and over pretty quickly. GRAW 2 looks better too. :P

Rainbow Six: Vegas has a good co-op mode as well for 2 people (can be offline) and is pretty good.

hey dude, ill throw up another vote for gears of war. its a fairly good representation of what the 360 can do at the moment and is good cause you can co-op with your mates

forget nba 07 unless your into sport games btw

graw (i havent played graw2 online yet) is a good game regarding graphics but you may find that the mulitplayer is less enjoyable than a game such as COD2.

i know COD2 was a launch game but even though the graphics were of a lower standard the gameplay (or playability if you will) was a lot better than graw

feel free to add me as well my gamertag is ' spinpsycle '

cheers

I was a big fan of PGR2 and have played a little bit of PGR3, I think it's pretty good but is a little bit easier; finishing arcade mode in PGR2 with all gold medals was insanely hard! You can pick PGR3 up very cheaply now if you look around, it also comes packaged with the official 360 steering wheel (which is awesome). But there's no 4 player offline splitscreen!

get Test Drive Unlimited... awesome game... they mapped the main island of Hawaii, google earth style and you can drive every inch of it... its all in correct proportion too... insane

that being said my 360 has shat itself after only 12 months... tis super ghey... going to chip it now and never pay for games again

Gears of war is a must buy especially if you gonna play online.

forza 2 comes out 14 of june. I didnt like the first 1 but they have reallly, really spent some serious time into the realisticness of this one and i think it should be a gem of a racing game.

I like nfs games. both carbon and most wanted are both heaps of fun on it.

Call of duty 3 is kick ass as.. as everyones saying get a 5.1 sound system and prepare for audial bliss.

PGR3 is quite fun and its damned hard to get all platinum medals too.. specially on the cone challenges (which my mate seems to think he should be so good at even though he doesnt play video games)

    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
    • Some of them keep working fine. 9 out of 10 of them end up causing an absolute misery bleeding the system and get thrown on the workshop floor in a tantrum and never thought about again because they were never really needed and just added crap to the car that we could have done without. Same-same with HICAS, A-LSD, and various other stupidities that over eager 10x engineers thought we had to have.
