Yeah AzzurrA I must admit I was a bit :P when I heard they actually charge spectators

ive been to the last 6 saturday sprints at QR and they sure dont charge so yeah - surprised me a bit

but like Anna said - it comes down to the fact that people want to see it

(more so than watching porches, etc etc race)

as for old tyres - thanks for the advice peoples - will come one day but not this month im afraid

(have some serious money issues :()

there is no pressure, the spectators know its practice, alot of them are just friends of the people out on track.

so i wouldnt worry.. trust me i gaurentee ill be pretty average out there... depending on what part of the track we are drifting

there are 3 different Drift events held by QR

Friday nights are a practice night. you can access the track for $80 or get on the skidpan for $50.

Saturday nights are a competition night that is aimed at getting more newbs into competition. There are no tandem battles, it is purely points based.

Sundays is the DriftState competiton which is run like a traditional drift comp with 1-16 battling it out in Group A and 17-32 battling in Group B.

What time does the Saturday night event start?

I might give this a go for the fun of it~ :P But it sounds pressurizing, i'd very much rather attend some kindda non-spectated drift practice session, given the fact that i've got no drifting experience.

nah man its fun as.

just take a racing line and power over at the start of the corner and counter steer....thats how i started...now i use the hand brake for some good entries.

fun fun

Im the same as you - want to have a go but am scared of the shame !

Well my first run on the track will be the 1st of June, im sure i will stuff up, but hey thats why it is called the drift practice, all got to start somewhere, i'd rather learn on the track then do it on the street

skidpan is on the same night, its boundary is the plastic road block's filled with water

its $50 to go on skid pan.. its soaked with diesel

i dont believe they soak it with desiel, and i think the barriers are empty....though they still cause damage.

if you pay to go on the track the skid pan is included.

and it is a mad arse night guys...heaps of fun..i have been doing it for 8 months now.
