Any photos?

The humidity is something else in the cities. +1 for Hokkaido, was there in July 2023 driving around 2/3rds of the island in a rental and the weather was far better, although it dropped to about 15 deg up in Wakkanai (the place where you can see Sakhalin Island on a clear day) during the day which was unexpected. Sapporo was great, will definitely go back there for the snow festival.

I’ll upload photos once at home. The plane wifi wasn’t the best.

i don’t feel like I did Sapporo justice, as I only had limited time to explore being stuck between hotel and convention centre…

That night shot of Tokyo skytree is great 👍

Did you catch the name of the coffee & pudding cafe? This is my current exploration theme, top notch little hole in the wall Japanese cafes 😄

I’m pretty sure it’s Hekkelun coffee in Nishishimbashi Tokyo. He seems to have become a bit of an internet sensation with his caramel puddings (which are delicious) so it gets a bit crowded and isn’t the chill environment I like for a coffee..

Never been there but seen the social media posts about Hekkelun. Agree about the environment, I'd only go there in the middle of winter for that exact reason.
Le Monde Coffee in northern Nagoya is one I'd like to try out when I'm out that way.

A couple of the coffee & food places I liked around Tokyo:

Switch coffee in Asakusa

Bricolage in Roppongi Hills

Bills Ginza

Nakiryu Ramen in Minamiotsuka

in Sapporo:

Mermaid cafe

Harry Bakery

i found most places are not open before 10am but most the above open round 8-9am.

So these creme caramel puddings are one of my all time favourite things ever. Was one of the first things my grandma taught me to make and I've made them ever since. Didn't know it was a thing in japan! I've always ordered a creme brulee (which is literally this inverted and blowtorched with sugar) at shops but never found caramel puddings mainstream in oz. Pairing it with a coffee... f**kin genius!

They are definitely a good combo!

    • Yeah exactly how I ended in this mess, including my hurried botch jobs that I'm now paying for If I can't identify the proper source in another day's work that will be the go for sure....its is a very simple bodge. Because..... OK, so both the dealer fitter remote start and the locally fitted alarm are out. In the end it was easier than it could have been because the remote start was a plug in loom to the key, and all the butchery for the local alarm was in that flying loom...big win!  I did have some stuff I just could not work out in the alarm like a pair of speaker wires tapped into something below the driver's seat (boot lock maybe?) and something running into a blue wire in the a pillar near the roof....in any case I'm sure they are not an issue so they are removed. I kept the extra central locking actuator in the driver's door for when future Duncan refits central locking.....but that did mean I had to remove all this swanky deadening from a page or 2 ago to check that's what the wires are for So, now it looks like this....hard to tell but it is much better and I cleaned up the hurried bodgy jobs while I was there (still need to find a good ignition source and connect one other wire for a gauge once I've worked out where best to run it. So, plugged it all back in, turned on the Link.....and no change, still got 9.5v at the ECU (I didn't check pin 31 for IGN power because it was late, and 4 degrees.) What I did discover while in the footwell is that Nissan decided the Stagea needed 9 separate relays in there....   So....next is to have a good physical look for a purple and white wire while hanging upside down. If I can't find it I'm taking Matt's advice and running a new wire and forgetting this whole saga ever happened.
