Does R33 Series1 Afm Suit Series2

Recommended Posts

I need to change my air flow meter on my series2 R33 GTS25t. Brand new from Nissan I've been quoted 900 bucks, so as you do I started looking for a used one but all the used ones up forsale seem to be off a series1. Would I be risking it putting one off a series1 in my series2 skyline or are they both identical since they both have an RB25DETs and all?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

rb20 and rb25 series 1 have 4 wires

rb25 series 2 has 3 wires

the difference is the rb20/rb25 s1 have an extra ground for the signal ground

whereas the s2 only has 1 ground

so you can join the grounds together and it should work fine

ecu's do not differentiate between rb20/s1/s2 afms its all the same

Thanks a lot for that guys, thats great help.

So you reckon connecting my 1 ground wire to both of the s1 AFM's ground ports should do the trick?

Now only thing left is figuring out which of them is the ground :)

The two middle wires out of the four connected wires are ground, solder these two and go from there.

The ground wire for your original afm should be white with a blue stripe

Thanks a lot for your help everyone, managed to grab a used AFM from a wrecked series2 for just 100 bucks, put it in and car is running perfectly now. Cheers for all your help.
