noobie question -

looking at pics of K&N Panel Filters, they appear the same as the cheap paper filters (i.e. salmon coloured).....

Now I have a salmon-coloured filter that i think is a cheap paper filter (no part # or brand on the filter itself) in my new ride and am thinking about a K&N panel, but the pics of K&N's 'look' like the filter I have.

Can you see/feel the difference in material or branding on the K&N's?

K&N are still really good, Million km warranty and they flow very good with pods or panel... they look nothing like a paper filter at all, they have like a metal mesh sorta thing or it mite be plastic ?thats how you could probably tell the difference.

i have had both apexi and k&n and couldnt tell difference between them...its not a difference you can feel i think. i would have kept stock airbox but had to go to pod after getting front mount and now have an airbox and brand new apexi filter just sitting in garage(waste of money) although i wish i could go back to airbox as im getting sick of the constant noise from a pod
