Switch Off Headlights Automatically

Does anyone know how to, or what i need to make my headlights/taillights turn off automatically once i pull out my keys and open my door? ive got a seca that has this in place, and wanted the same setup on my skyline. i always seem to forget to switch off the headllights after driving during the day. im assuming xenon's drain the battery quicker. already had the battery die out on me a couple of times, after a few hours.

I bought a DEI kit from ebay a while back that does this.

It has a sensor on the dash too that turns the lights on when it is dark and off when the ignition is turned off.

im sure a good imobiliser will kill everything. my mates car turns its lights off when alarm is armed.

My car beeps at me if I take the key out but leave the lights on. No missing it.

If I try to arm the alarm with them still on, the alarm 'chirps', incase I missed the bloody beeping!

unfortunately my alarm suppresses the headlight warning, because the car thinks it's still on. grrr.

if i had the right wiring diagrams i'd figure a way around it..

i found one of those kits on ebay. its should be here in a week or so. i like the idea of headlights turning on when its dark. sounds pretty trick. what happens when you drive under a streetlamp at night? do the headlights turn off momentarily?

No it has a "delay" e.g. after 3 seconds of darkness they turn on (i think you can change the time) and after 20 sec of light it turns off.
