I'm pretty much new to everything here, these boards, skylines, and Australia. I have just moved here from California and I was originally going to bring my car with me but the conversion and import fees were too much for me so I couldn't bring it. So I have quickly found a car I like here. Your "Muscle cars" here are sad, even with the giant engines.

Anyway, I've done quite a bit of searching and looking through what I could find and I think I have made my choice, R33 GTR. So I am just looking for more R33 GTR specific information, the good and bad, so I know what to look for when I start looking to buy.

Thanks!

mate, welcome aboard. and welcome to aussie land.

it's hard to say, it all depends on the actual car that you get, some gt-rs are in good condition but most are not. so you will have to check, most second-hand skylines will have been modified so its hard to give you specs.

if you want specs on a skyline, do a google or yahoo search heaps of info on the web.

but yeah, the r33 gt-r is a beauty, i think you've made the right decision.

Buy one that has already had the mods put into it, saves you a lot of money.

Very good choice of vehicle, most of the 33 GT-R's are still in great condition mainly because they are still a $25k+ car. Look for something that has low km's, good interior and engine presentation as this usually represents how the car has been treated.

yeh mate welcome to aussie and great choice, 33gtr, if only i had one.haha

oneday down the track i may have one, i have its brother r33 gtst.

great cars.

look for something that looks as if it has been treated well,

and once you get one you wont want to stop modding. as most people on here would probably know that feeling, haha

I'm really picky about what parts I put on my cars which is why I want a "stock" one. I know it's expensive but I love buying parts so it's all part of the fun for me. Also I like it to be more of a project rather than just buying a fast car. Stock GTR will beat the V8 family cars here anyway!

Which Australian 'Muscle cars' are you referring to? The ones that use American engines that have been tweaked, with stronger chasis, better handling? I suppose it depends on what you're comparing them to.

But R33GTR is much better than most Muscle cars anyway. Good choice!

Honestly, I'm talking about more of the look than anything. I know they can be fast, and I know they are powerful, but when I look at one all I see is a family car with a big engine in it. No dif

erent than my mom's Lexus back home!

Oh, that and the exhaust is really quiet, even when it's full throttle. I'm just not used to all of that being called a muscle car is all.

Anyway, thanks for all of your info so far.

I felt EXACTLY the same when I bought my 33 GTR. I ended up spending a small house on my car to get it to where it is today.

If you want a built GTR ready to go, mine's for sale. You can check it out at LeeWah GTR
