Callin' all Skyliners,

I'm sure we all have had wild ideas, innovative thoughts and desires to do something special to our Skylines. Something that will make it unique and stand out from the crowd.

If cash wasn't an issue and you had the right people that could do pratically anything; what modifications or alterations would you do to your Skyline?

I'll start - I've always wanted custom leather seats with my rego printed on them. I want them to be dark-red with black stitching.

I've done some research and it will cost me around $4,500 but it's worth it (I'm talking about all seats not just the front).

Secondly, I want to get a custom sunroof put in ($3,000) plus finally I want cruise control to be installed ($1,750).

So yeah, that's it for me. What do you guys think?

And yes fellas', we're talking about RICE here...

Click here for a crack at what 'RICING' is .... LMAO

ummm......I would replace all the rubber seals and interior bits with brand new nissan stuff so it looks just like new and a coat of paint (factory colour)

Bro, that's a very modest wish. it clearly shows how much you love your Skyline. respect to that.

Guys,

keep the ideas coming.

as throughout the years, since I got married, I've been saving all my tax return monies and finally have a modest but yet fairly-flexible budget to play around with. "Nissie" as I call my R33 beast (kinda lame I know, but my Wife calls the Skyline Nissie short for Nissan) has been through a few hard times with me, he's part of the family so-to-speak so it's time that he gets a little birthday present.

A lot of 'dropping new engine' ideas I see, I might just do something like this.

But you see, the ironic thing is, I'm still on my P's so I am struggling to keep my R33 as it is with the new laws. So yeah, I might have to go all rice for now and no performance mods - bugger to that.

Please post some pics of what you may want to do as well peoples.

Cheers,

A full restoration from the ground up.

New paint

Suspension bushes, rods etc

Rebuilt motor

All new interior, seats, dash, carpet etc

and basically anything else that would make the car like it was when it rolled out of the factory

Well, first I'd buy another one. haha

But what sort of money are we talking about here- Enough to get the chassis remade in carbon fibre like the Powerhouse Amuse R34. No budget limit would be sweeeeeeet :(

Os Giken RB30 engine with two GTRS turbos to start off with

dry sump set up

Endless 8 piston brakes+4piston at the back

i can think of millions of things right now

actually i would build my car as a full time track car, and buy a 400R from someone. i would make an offer he can not refuse.

ummm......I would replace all the rubber seals and interior bits with brand new nissan stuff so it looks just like new and a coat of paint (factory colour)

f**king snap

its my new pet hate, that i hear those ratles, and want them gone

refurbishing back to stock without rattles would be dreamy

RB26/30 motor in.

All old suspension OUT, new stuff in (Coilovers the works)

Replace my wheels with brand new versions of whats on there (Gutter rashed by previous owners, plus one chunk from me hitting a mates garden (10CM high wall!)

Pull the only minor dent out (I see it everytime I get the car out, but it's only a slight "in" need to have the light perfect to see it)

Respray the whole car with a single pin stripe down the side.

Bodykit etc would stay as is.

Replace every rubber inside.

Replace front seats with a good racing seat (For passenger and driver)

Rear seat remove and a "cover" made to keep it neat. Fire extinguisher mounted back here.

6Point roll cage with side intrusion bars.

3" Harness.

Most likely a custom dash (For extra guages and switches etc)

Rip the whole stereo out completely.

New diff

Dogbox gear box.

re-build my car from the ground up, wide body kit, fresh paint work, all new bushes, all adj suspension components, proberly build an rb23 (something different) get another recaro seat for the passenger :P

No budget limits ya reckon?

Ok, for starters replace all rubbers and trims with brand new Nissan bits. Obvious.

Complete respray, probably not in a factory colour but something not too lairy. Kinda like the BMW metallic blue/green. Hmmm.

Good set of lightweight, forged wheels, 18 x 8 all round.

Standard looking, apart from being slightly lowered. Handling, not looks is king. I wanna drive the fusker.

Carbon body bits where practical, which would probably mean just bonnet and boot (painted to match the rest of the car).

Chassis bracing. Front and rear towers obviously but some extra as well. Maybe a half cage.

No back seats. Stuffit, I sit in the front. Stereo, ABS, battery and anything else possible located where the back seats used to be, under custom panels upholstered to match the rest of the interior. The idea here is to improve the F/R weight balance and keep the CG as low as possible.

Keep the little RB20 just for the hell of it but fit a six speed box. Mildly work the donk (ports, etc) and change the turbo (GTRS or similiar?). Aim for 200 atw.

Water/air cooler for a nice, short inlet tract to help throttle response. While I'm at it may as well cryo treat the buggery out of everything.

Full titanium exhaust (weight). Polish everything under teh bonnet and add some coloured coatings.

HICAS long gone, natch. Fit an ATESSA controller.

Upgrade brakes to Porsche ceramic (unsprung weight) with decent calipers to match. Carbon driveshaft.

Oh yeah, standard suspension arms redone on either chrome moly or titanium for less unsprung weight.

Same for every other bit of steel I can think of.

Full carbon undertray with diffusers for teh stealthy aerodynamics. Braided brake lines.

Can probably add fifty other details to this list as well.

Basic aim is to keep teh little 2 litre for sentimental value, have it looking just about bowling club stock and not too loud so da oinkers don't bug me, get rid of every bit of unnecessary weight, set the bastard up to handle like a go kart and give it a nice little power hike. Simple. :P

EDIT: Oh yeah, a full sized spare wheel. No space saver crap. Plus if there's no budget limit, get a Zonda for a daily hack.
